question Anybody can answer The best answers are voted up and rise to the top “ext4_lookup: deleted inode referenced” error in /var/log/messages up vote 9 down vote favorite 3 I checked my /var/log/messages log file, on every 2 secs interval there is some log getting added.. I suppose FS is corrupted. A manual file system check fixes it, but you can consider some files lost already. Syntax: fsck -y It is best to do this in single user mode.

Please! dishawjp23rd February 2007, 10:47 PMIt looks like you need to fsck your drive. Use the rescue disk or first disk to boot the computer. Then do the "chroot /mnt/sysimage" thing. Once you're there, create a file on the root directory named .forcefsck. One way to do this is to type as toor "touch /forcefsck" without the quotes.
