530 status code is encountered, resulting in an error message similar to one of the following examples: 530 Not ftp error 530 linux logged in. ERROR:> Not logged in. STATUS:> Connection closed. 530 Login authentication failed. ERROR:> Not logged in. STATUS:> Connection closed. 530 Password rejected. ERROR:> Not logged in. STATUS:> Connection closed. RESOLUTION The 530error is not caused by CuteFTP.The 530 error code and the repeated requests for the username and passwordare coming directly from the remote FTP server.The remote FTP server is rejecting the username and password combination that is being submitted to it. The remote FTP server is https://kb.globalscape.com/KnowledgebaseArticle10300.aspx indicating that one or more of the following three pieces of information is incorrect: Host address Username Password Double-check all three items. Your FTP account details are not necessarily the same as what you might use to access other areas of your domain or Web hosting account. It is also possible that the host address has changed or your password has been reset for some reason. GlobalSCAPE, Inc. does not provide FTP accounts and does not have access to your FTP server's connection information. Contact the administrator of the FTP server for the information you need to connect to their server. Join them; it only takes a minute: Sign up FTP Error 530 User cannot login up vote 10 down vote favorite 2 I am trying to FTP to a new FTP site I setup with IIS 7.0 for the Windows Server Web (64-bit) edition. But I get the above error when I try to login to this site. But I can login to my other FTP sites. Also, when I select this website from IIS Manager, the FTP section does not display in the middle section although it does display in Action panel. And I cannot successfully login to this FTP site either. I have checked and I have Log on locally selected. I do not have allow only anonymous connections. I have Access this computer from the network selected. I restarted my IIS and FTP services also. The one different thing I noticed about this website in IIS different from the other site that has FTP working is that this one there are 3 virtual directories beneath the site. And that when I click on any one of these 3, then the FTP strip does appear in the center pane. Make sense? How can I debug cause of this error?
