I can't connect to my site remotely via Dreamweaver CS4 no matter what I do. I am unable to see my site remotely or "put" files via the program. When I "test" my settings, I get a long list of possible error messages, which I went through one by one and made sure the possible issues were rectified. I was

on the phone with Godaddy (my hosting service) and they were at a loss. All my info is set correctly, but I still get the errors. This is crap. I am so frustrated wasting my time with this now that I wish I had used another program to create my site! Anyone else have this problem? Is this a known issue? If so, it's a pretty big one! I'm interested to hear. Thanks. I have the same question Show 0 Likes(0) 4671Views Tags: none (add) This content has been marked as final. Show 19 replies 1. I have been pulling my hair out over this for hours. I have had Dreamweaver CS3 installed on my computer for quite a while and http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?647078-Strange-Problem-with-Dreamweaver-CS3-and-CS4 have been using it to create many websites. I recently installed Dreamweaver CS4 and have started using it for some sites (while I'm learning some of the new features). Today I was using CS4 and I clicked on an image to upload (or "put) and I got this error message: "An FTP error occurred - cannot make connect to host. Your login or password is incorrect. Please check your connection information" Now, I have just uploaded several images and files within the last hour and have not changed anything - this just suddenly started happening without my changing anything. If I click on site > manage site > edit > Remote Info and click "Test" (without changing anything) it connects successfully right away. So I click "Done" and try again - same error message. The other strange thing that it is doing is when I am in Dreamweaver and I try to "Preview in Browswer", I get the same error message and then a browswer window opens (instead of opening the local file) and displays the wrong page. So I tried closing Dreamweaver CS4 and opening Dreamweaver CS3 and the same thing is happening there. One more strange thing, this is only happening to one of my websites. It seems (I admit I have only tested about a half dozen others) that all other sites are connecting fine. Anyone?? Dreamweaver CS4 installed just fine, and starts up just fine, linking to the web site home folder on my computer just fine. Problem is when I an ftp error attempt to connect to Host I get the following message: An FTP error occurred - cannot make connection to host. Dreamweaver cannot connect to host "ftp-dom.earthlink.net". This may be due to one or more of the following reasons:... I've made all the adjustments and corrections suggested thereafter in the error window, but to no avail. I've even did a clean install of the software, and have also did a complete wipe of my hard drive and reloaded all system software and application software from scratch, and still the same problem. The Adobe site's information and links to forums dealing with this problem have been no help whatsoever. My connection is through a DSL protocol, both hard wired (via Ethernet) and wireless, depending on where I'm located. Have no problems with other internet related connections with other software that accesses the internet. My Dreamweaver 8 application, on the same computer, loads up just fine and connects to the host just fine with no FTP errors whatsoever to which I'm able to do any updates, work on the site, etc, with no problem, whether I'm connected via a hard wire Ethernet connection or via a wireless connection. The problem appears to squarely set with Dreamweaver CS4 itself. I also had the same exa
