500 Command not understood Joined: 2011-04-19 20:37 Posts: 3 First name: erik Last name: olson Just tried to upgrade from Filezilla ftp protocol commands Server 0.9.41 to 0.9.43 on a Server 2003 box. Halfway through the installation, I get an error. "Error opening file for writing: C:\ProgramFiles\Filezilla Server\Filezilla Server Interface.exe". Options are abort, retry, ignore. Retry doesn't work. https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/10943891/error-writing-ftpip-address-undefined-error I tried ignore, but when Filezilla Server starts I get the following error every 5 seconds;"Protocol warning: Server version mismatch: Server version is 0.9.67.0, interface version is 0.9.65.0Protocol error: Protocol version mismatch: Server protocol version is 0.1.15.0, interface protocol version is 0.1.13.0Connection to server closed."I tried installing 0.9.41 again, but the error persists.I tried downloading 0.9.43 from another mirror, but the error persists.Any ideas? I have not completely https://forum.filezilla-project.org/viewtopic.php?t=32438 uninstalled and reinstalled as I want to maintain my settings and such if at all possible.Thank you. If the error shows again, quit the FZ Server Admin Interface manually and then click Retry. _________________### BEGIN SIGNATURE BLOCK ###No support requests per PM! After I got your reply, I rebooted the server and tried again and it worked. Strange.Sorry, I didn't try a reboot first before posting. Simple solution.... For TFTP, make sure the file already exists and has write permission. The nature of the path vary by TFTP server, but it is generally relative to the set TFTP root directory. (What TFTP server) Make sure the TFTP server ftp protocol error has write permissions (SolarWinds has a checkbox for that) and that the file has world-write permissions (Unix). Also, the whole dialog of the failure may be hellpful. Make sure you are copying from the right source location. Also be sure that TFTP or FTP serevr don't have IP address restrictions. Phillip Remaker, Apr 4, 2004 #2 Advertisements Saket Badola Guest I have tried "ip ftp username" and "ip ftp password". But result is the same. the natural choice for transfering files on a Cisco device for a long time but it has some weaknesses: It's not reliable, since it doesn't use TCP Since it's not using TCP every packet has to be acknowledged before the next one can be sent No support for encryption of traffic Takes long time to transfer large files So why do we still use TFTP, mostly because it's simple to setup and that we are used to it. File Transfer Protocol (FTP) overcomes most of the weaknesses of TFTP. It's reliable because it uses TCP for transport. We send several packets before needing to acknowledge. It's much faster. It is not encrypted but if that is a must Secure Copy (SCP) can be used. Transfering a file from a FTP server to a Cisco ASA is very easy. First you need a FTP server, I use Quick ‘n Easy FTP Server Lite. This is the syntax to transfer a file: copy ftp://user:[emailprotected]/filename disk0: Change user and password to the real user and password and the servip is the IP used by the FTP-server. Filename is the name of the file to transfer. Disk0 is the destination for the file. I did some upgrades of ASA last week and I was shocked how much faster it is than TFTP so I highly recommend you start using it.
