Gas Gauge Fluctuates
Kingsport, TN Posts: 185 Offline "Fuel Gauge Error:Contact Dealer" I also posted this in the Engine Tech section. My battery died over the weekend, so I replaced it and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JQgrU26v34 now I have this "Fuel Gauge Error:Contact Dealer" popping up. The car still runs fine. My traction control is also staying off now and my coolant temp gauge is staying at Cold. Anybody else have this happen or have a suggestion on how to fix this? __________________ 2005 GTO Black/Black-A4 1 of 553 Gone but will not be forgotten http://www.ls1gto.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166956 blkgoat05 View Public Profile Find More Posts by blkgoat05 Remove Advertisements Sponsored Links LS1GTO.com Advertisement 06-18-2007, 11:28 AM #2 Locke Registered User 2006 GTO Owner Join Date: Apr 2007 Location: New Smyrna Beach Posts: 187 Offline check your fuses, or it might just reset itself, have had the fuel gauge error but that was after jacking up the rear Locke View Public Profile Find More Posts by Locke 06-26-2007, 04:52 PM #3 blkgoat05 Registered User 2005 GTO Owner Join Date: Apr 2006 Location: Kingsport, TN Posts: 185 Offline I have checked all of my fuses and they are all good. I tried to unhook my battery for 15 seconds to reset the ECM, but that did not work either. Anybody have any suggestions on this before I take it to the dealership. blkgoat05 View Public Profile Find More Posts by blkgoat05 11-28-2008, 02:37 PM #4 flipGTO potatoes gonna potate. 2004 GTO Owner Join Date: Jan 2007 Location: Augusta, GA Posts: 1,855 Offline ok, got this proble

It started about a year ago, the spring after I installed a Power Commander PCIII. About 20% of the time the gauge reads half full, or displays one bar (but doesn't flash), but 80% of the time it displays the error. The bike runs normally (perfectly) and when I turn the key on, I can hear the pump priming for a few seconds. Things I've checked: -Looked for crimped wires under the tank. -Checked the ground at the fuel pump. Things I think that might work: -Tightening the connector in the back of the instrument cluster -Replacing the fuel pump. Would the fuel pump level sensor go bad even if the fuel pump itself is working perfectly (i.e the bike runs normally)? Is it the red/black wire that deliv
