that the unit is either defective or not installed correctly. Any time you get a 50.9 fuser error on your HP printer, you should try turning the printer off, check that the fuser assembly is properly installed and then turn the power back on. This can sometimes completely remedy the issue, though typically this will provide only a temporary solution as the error is likely to return after printing a few more pages. When the error returns after turning it off, it's time to replace your fuser unit. The unfortunate truth is that fuser assemblies usually have a lesser lifespan than the printer. More often than not, you will go through several fuser assemblies throughout the lifespan of the printer itself. HP themselves estimate the average fuser is good for about 100,000 pages printed, but unfortunately fusers often fail sooner than that. Manufacturing defects and poor maintenance are a few things that can contribute to the premature failure of HP fuser assemblies.Office Link is a leading supplier and proponent of compatible fuser assemblies, maintenance kits and ink cartridges. odd dilemma.I own a CP3505 purchased back in 2008 and so far it has worked like a charm. This morning I got a fuser error and noticed streaking and black spots on my pages. I removed and reinserted the fuser and then printed the cleaning page and calibrated. Still no cigar. The fuser error disappeared but the pages printed continued to have the blotches.Called up HP Business support and even though my extended warranty ran out, were willing to assist me. Printed a diagnostic page whose left hand side looked a complete mess. He then suggested removing the cartridges, disabling the cartridge check, and printing a demo page to see if any marks appeared. Sure enough they did reappear and so then he was going to instruct me with further steps. But first and foremost I had to reinsert the cartridges, but could not close the front door after putting all four CMYK toner cartridges into their respective slots. Puzzled, I even shut off the machine and tried inserting even one cartridge but the front door could not close. I know there is some kind of a locking mechanism on the right hand side which currently moves as I start closing the front door but it does NOT lock the toner cartridge in place. Talk about going from the frying pan into the fire. I'm at a loss as to why the locking mechanism on the right hand side is not working correctly and ultimately how the door is not closing. Is any advice you folks can offer regarding both the front door/lockmechanism issue along with the fuser/print quality problem?Your answers and suggestions are very much appreciated. Thanks in advance. Respond to this 0 Those cartridge locks tend to break easily and they're not easy to replace. You might want to read this explanation of how it works and how to troubleshoot it. http://blog.marketpoint.comYour fuser problem sounds like you'll need to replace the fuser assy., although I don't understand how you got it to print with the 50.2 error. That should inhibit printing. by moe on Aug 24, 2012 at 11:07am Add comment Ple
