I have recently gameguard error 114 fix tried to play Aion and at run time it installed a rootkit called gameguard. Gameguard is said to prevent hacking, it monitors all processes and memory and often carries on running when Aion closes. Outpost is clashing with the rootkit. I contacted Aion support and they suggested I uninstall Outpost, thoughts? Hello, Thank you for contacting NCsoft Technical Support. These error messages can be caused by a couple of different things. In order to nprotect gameguard eliminate some of the possible variables, you should try the steps outlined below. FIRST: Locate your Aion directory. (By default, this installs to C:\Program Files\NCsoft\Aion) In the 'system' folder, and open the Bin32 folder and locate the folder titled GameGuard. Delete the GameGuard folder, and re-launch Aion. Let it re-download these files. Game Guard is not updated through the launcher, it updates during the launching of the game so you may not notice any files actually downloading. SECOND: If this does not resolve the issue and the error messages persist, you should verify that you have all firewall or Internet security software disabled. If you are able to connect with your firewall software disabled, then you will need to add exceptions to your firewall rules for the following files: AION.bin, GameGuard.des, GameMon.des, and NCLauncher.exe, with full access to the Internet. The default locations for each file are as follows: "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\bin32\AION.bin" "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\bin32\GameGuard.des" "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Aion\bin32\GameGuard\GameMon.des" "C:\Program Files\NCSoft\Launcher\NCLauncher.exe" THIRD: If after trying all of these adjustments the issue still occurs please try temporarily uninstalling the security software completely. If this resolves the issue then please contact the software manufacturer for instructions on how to configure it correctly if you wish to reinstall it. Please let us know if the steps above do not help resolve the issue. Regards, Mike C. NCsoft Technical
Hi,This past week I upgraded from KIS2009 to KIS2010, to do so I used the Uninstall link found within Start > All Program > Kaspersky > Modify, Repair, Remove. I then rebooted and installed KIS2010, saving only my registration information. I'm running Windows Vista Ultimate 64-bit SP2 with 4gigs RAM.All seemed to be working well until I attempted to join the most recent Aion beta weekend. Aion is a new MMO set to be released in North America this fall, it uses nProtect GameGuard as part of its Anti-hacking features. During the last beta weekend I was still using http://www.outpostfirewall.com/forum/showthread.php?24578-Aion-and-GameGuard KIS2009 and able to log in perfectly. This weekend, as I said, I've upgraded to 2010 which appears to not allow GameGuard to launch. The error message I receive is as follows:Problem signature: Problem Event Name: APPCRASH Application Name: GameMon.des Application Version: 2009.6.2.1 Application Timestamp: 4a24c693 Fault Module Name: mzvkbd3.dll_unloaded Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 4a19f1dd Exception Code: c0000005 Exception Offset: 6d84218b OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.256.1 Locale https://forum.kaspersky.com/lofiversion/index.php/t122768.html ID: 1033 Additional Information 1: 175e Additional Information 2: f89b7f90e9755b19d630c9ce03aa3e6d Additional Information 3: 20df Additional Information 4: 8ab06bb9f04d781c76da52de9d18f09bRead our privacy statement: http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=501...mp;clcid=0x0409I've posted this information both to Aion forums as well as NCsoft tech support, however after Googling I found that the file in question 'mzvkbd3.dll' is a Kaspersky file. As such, I'm assuming they'll simply direct me back here for answers. When the application launches, KIS2010 brings up a warning box giving me the option to Allow, Quarentine, Terminate, or Add to Exclusions. Trying either allow or add to exclusions results in the same problem, which is GameGuard failing to start. I've also tried disabling KIS2010 before launching (which I *really* do not want to have to do) however I still receive an error, unfortunately the error is written in badly formed ASCII representation of Korean, thus I have no idea what it is telling me.Have there been any issues with GameGuard and KIS2010? Any other thoughts from the above error message?TIA Don Pelotas 3.07.2009 14:01 It the virtual keybord in KIS since not all will carry over with an "ontop og old version" in stall i would recommend you yo uninstall completely and reboot.....you can do it with this tool: http://support.kaspersky.com/

Unanswered Game guard 114 error Azntranc3 Calgary, ABMember Posts: 169 June 2009 in Aion Hey to everyone who was lucky enough to get a Aion closed beta key! I'm guessing a large portion of those people have already DLed aion and are patiently waiting for June 5 - I'm pretty excited myself, except on big blemish: GAMEGUARD. After waiting 10 hours or so (Iwas at school most of the time so it doesn't count, perhaps 4 hours than), I finally get the game downloaded. However, once downloaded I start to load if up only to be face to face with some sort of annoying error. It's a Gameguard 114 error, followed by a bunch of gibberish. I tried turnning off my firewall which didn't work at all, does anyone else have the same issue or know of a solution? Thanks in advance. 0 Comments asdasdasdd Jacksonville, FLMember Posts: 52 June 2009 If you're using Windows 7 32bit, then Ihate to say it, but you're SOL, friend was going to play with me but there are no fixes atm for windows 32 and gameguard If that isn't your issue, then sorry to waste your time =x 0 Onekama KaiserslauternMember Posts: 28 June 2009 I am also having this problem. Iam using norton's latest internet security, window's vista 32bit, Ihave tryed 1. all firewalls off 2. turning everthing off in norton. 3. comp restart 4. pluging directly into the modem. .... next pls. 0 korat102 Milton KeynesMember Posts: 313 June 2009 From Gameguards own site, a 114 error is frequently caused by collisions with anti-virus software and it can be broken by windows updates or any other running program. They recommend that you shut down all applications while it's running, including security processes! A quote from their own FAQ "Some functions of GameGuard could be blocked due to system over protection" - in other words, while their program is running they expect you to leave your PC open to attack. Personally I won't touch a game that installs a rootkit, especially one as fragile as this. Anything that hides itself on my PC, doesn't have an uninstall option and gives itself the right to shut down any system process that it doesn't like is dangerous in my book. 0 Reizla 127.0.0.1Member Posts: 3,778 Uncommon June 2009 I only get the 114 error when I have Lineage II open. Perhaps this error tells you that an other gameguard is already running?
