Gameguard Error 1002
2006 Posts: 27 [Guide]Gameguard Error 660, 1040 Ok so i've been seeing enough people asta gameguard error 1002 in IRC channels with this error so i'm making this post to help out. ::GameGuard Error 660:: After updating your client and you get to the login screen, you enter your info but nothing happens, after a while a GameGuard error pops up and your client closes, This happens no matter how many times you try connecting. ::Solution:: Navigate to C:\windows\system32\drivers\etc, you will see a file called hosts, open it in a text editor like NotePad. After opening the hosts file, remove all entries apart from 127.0.0.1 http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/1725/1ds7.th.pnghttp://img174.imageshack.us/img174/5983/2xl3.th.pnghttp://img222.imageshack.us/img222/8307/3ku8.th.png This is what your hosts file should look like when you're done. http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4258/4fq9.th.png ::GameGuard Error 1041:: Same problem as above with a slightly different solution. ::Solution:: If you are behind a router/switch/hub and connect to the net through ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) Simply check the hosts files on your networked PC's and follow the guide above. ::Note:: If you don't feel comfortable checking in your system32 directory, you can download HijackThis! and let it perform a scan, then simply let it remove the host file entry. Hope this helps anyone having this problem but haven't been able to find a solution.
