The child setup installs all the required files. I'm not sure what file it's trying to access. Does anyone know how I would find out? The second setup was also built with InstallShield Prof v7 but is not part of the same project https://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?119719-DoInstall-error i.e. it will be on a separate CD to the parent setup. Could this be what the problem is? Is this likely to cause problems? thanks, Lianne Reply With Quote 11-17-2008,06:06 AM #2 Matthias1967 View Profile View Forum Posts Power User (30+ Posts) Join Date May 2003 Location Germany Posts 78 I know that this thread is quite old, however I have not found a satisfactory answer in the community so far. Therefore I would like to add my experience: Such an error is usually caused by DoInstall itself (preparing and cleaning up the child install...). This involves a lot of file activity. A good candidate to look at is the SUPPPORTDIR of the child install, as well as

When trying to reinstall the software for my player, I received multiple errrors stating DoInstall fails to launch E:\MTP\Explorer\SETUP. INX. DoInstall return error google chrome code is -247024864. I noticed that other have had similar problems with different solutions, but none exactly like what I am experiencing. I did accidently plug the MP3 player in before installing the software again, but I am not sure that is what the problem is from as other have had similar errors without connecting their player. The errors happen after I have selected what software I would like to install from the Installation CD and the Installation wizard begin to install them. It gets to about 3% and then I start to receive the errors. I do not believe the install CD is faulty as it worked before and has only been out of the pkg once.
