These are not obscure apps which won't run on my DX but are current apps which are often already play store error retrieving information from server installed on the phone. For example, to get the correct error message, I tried to access Google Maps with the above result. What's weird is I got the update to GM yesterday and as long as I do

an "install all", it works just fine. However, if there is a permission change, I might as well uninstall it because I can't get the update. I do have a history of weird Market issues. For example the web-based market does not recognize my phone, though it does recognize my rooted Nook Color. I've tried force closing the Market app, clearing the cache and data, uninstalling updates then restarting it without success. I've tried fixing permissions

using ROM Manager. Nope. I did notice this seemed to begin about the time I installed the Amazon Appstore so I uninstalled it and tried the re-doing the Market app again. Failure. I figure my next move is wipe the phone and start over but I really hate to do that, it's always a pain. Is anyone seeing similar behavior? Any ideas what might be going on? Yes, my phone is rooted but I never played with any ROMs so it's rooted stock Froyo. Thanks. When I click on most of My Apps from the Market, it says, "The requested item could not be found." If I conduct a search in the Market for the same app, it will allow me to open the app from the search, but not from the My Apps list in the Market. (The apps open correctly from my app drawer, so this bug does not affect the actual application.) I've also cleared the cache and data for the Market to no avail. This market error seems to affect only few apps while other apps download or install just fine. Here are the steps you can take to solve this problem: In my case, I experienced this error while trying to update the Rockmelt App. I solved this by a simple uninstall and reinstall in the Google Play Store. But mostly the problem error 492 can be fixed by these steps: First try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. If that doesn't work follow the steps below. Go to System Settings >> Manage Applications >> Select “All” tab Now from all apps list, select Google Play Store and clear data and cache Now again from the apps list, select Google Services Framework and clear data and cache Open Google Play and then try to update or install the app. It should work. If it doesn’t work, boot into recovery (Clockworkmod) and then Wipe cache and from advanced>>Wipe Dalvik cache. Note: This problem is common in case of Custom ROMs like Cyanogenmod. All customs ROMs have Clockworkmod so wiping cache shouldn’t be a problem. It was also mentioned in XDA Forum that that sometimes the 492 error occurs when you have a corrupted SD card. So if the problem still persists after following the above measures, you could try formatting your SD card and then installing apps. The error 492 occuring on your Android device might have been solved by now. If not, you can leave a comment below, with your device name. You can leave your opinion if it's solved too.
