Services Question 0 Sign in to vote Windows 2003 and windows 2008 domain controller Suddendly, there is event id 7016 folder redirection one (IT) users which can not get the group policy. In the result of gp report, it reports "the data is invalid" on the user computer, I

got the event id 1101 which states that the processing of GP failed. Windows could not locate the directory object OU=IT, DC=company,dc=local. Group policy settings will not be enforced until this event is resolved." I checked the DCs and verify that "OU=IT, DC=company,dc=local" does exist. How should resolve this? Thank you. Edited by SGryzbowski this machine is configured to retrieve group policy files from a file share in an insecure way. Since, its happening for one user, verify his account by logging to other workstation to filter the issue with machine or user account. The above error indicates Authenticated users group is missing or denied access from IT OU(OU=IT,DC=child,DC=company,DC=local) in AD Users and Computers, ensure that "Authenticated Users" is given read access to the IT OU under the security tab. Right click the IT OU> properties> Security & look for authenticated users group. Take a look at below article as reference to verify the permissions are correctly set & run gpudate /force or if it doesn't work try to disjoin the system from domain & rejoin it. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/887421 Regards Awinish Vishwakarma

Are you specifying a certain group to handle security logs and you aren't giving them the privilege for "managing auditing and security logs" (I think that's the setting, under User Rights Assignments in the policy). > > Winlogon.log is giving the following error: > "Error 13: The data is invalid. > Error convert %DSLOG%. > Error 13: The data is invalid. > Error convertting section Fi
