any server and replication isn't working between domain controllers in my Server 2012 environment. Event 1058 Source event id 1058 error code 3 : Group Policy (Microsoft-WindowsGroupPolicy) is being logged on servers when trying to run gpupdate manually. The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows attempted to read the file \\TCG.co.uk\SysVol\TCG.co.uk\Policies\{14F3AFF1-A609-4778-AE09-E70D79C6D3E4}\gpt.ini from a https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc727259(v=ws.10).aspx domain controller and was not successful. Group Policy settings may not be applied until this event is resolved. This issue may be transient and could be caused by one or more of the following: a) Name Resolution/Network Connectivity to the current domain controller. b) File Replication Service Latency (a file created on another domain controller has not replicated to the current https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/374873-group-policies-not-applying-and-replication-between-dcs-not-working-event-1058 domain controller). c) The Distributed File System (DFS) client has been disabled. DFS and FRS is running, I am able to navigate to \\TCG.co.uk\SysVol\TCG.co.uk\Policies from any server - any find {14F3AFF1-A609-4778-AE09-E70D79C6D3E4} . Everyone has full permission over the SYSVOL share. No windows firewall enabled, no recent changes to anti-virus, no recent changes to group policy, just no idea why it's not working. I've researched the event, and gone through Microsoft recommended steps and still no luck. What’s causing these errors? A: These errors are common, and unfortunately there’s no one cause— or solution. These errors arise when the client computer can’t successfully read the Sysvol portion of a Group Policy Object (GPO), which is where the gpt.ini file is stored. Most often, these errors occur because Windows’ networking stack doesn’t initialize in time for Group Policy processing to occur. In such cases, you’ll typically see that computer processing of Group Policy will fail, but then user processing of Group Policy will succeed. There are a couple of Microsoft articles that address these network timing problems, including “Group Policy application fails on a computer that is running Windows 2000, Windows XP Service Pack 1, or Windows XP Service Pack 2” (support.microsoft .com/?kbid=840669), which helps you fix a variety of these problems, and “How to disable the Media Sensing feature for TCP/IP in Windows” (support. microsoft.com/?kbid=239924), which may also help with these types of problems, especially in wireless scenarios. The article “A client connected to an Ethernet switch

Comments: EventID.Net See the link to EV100186 ("Microsoft TechNet: Group Policy Preprocessing (Networking)") for details on solving this problem. x 19 EventID.Net According to EV100608 (Group Policy Windows attempted to read the filed), this may happen if a group policy has not been yet replicated to one of the domain controller. The solution is to identify the specified policy, verify that it does exist on the domain controller reporting the error and then re-initiate the replication using gpupdate. x 1 Anonymous In my case, I tried what Microsoft recommended by going to and trying to open gpt.ini at \\dcname\SYVOL\
