2008 Active Directory 4 Verified Solutions 13 Comments 14,238 Views Last Modified: 2013-01-14 I have a Windows 2008R2 domain with several hundred computers and users. I have had some problems with certain users that I originally thought was a problem with the computer network adapter. They are not getting group policy assignments and when I run GPRESULT, I get the message; event id 1110 error code 1717 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ INFO: The user "Domain Name\User Name" does not have RSOP data. If I try to run RSOP.msc while logged in as this user, I get the following; Group Policy Error RSoP data is invalid. Likely causes are, data is corrupt, data has been deleted or data has never been created. Details: Invalid namespace ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I can log in as my user account, which has domain admin rights, and GPRESULT and RSoP.msc both work. If I log in to another computer using the problem user name, I get the same errors as listed above when I run GPRESULT and RSoP.msc This was not always the case with the user; it all used to work correctly. Obviously, the issue is with the user account in the domain but I am not sure where to start. I don't want to just delete and recreate the user unless that is the last result. Any ideas? Upon setting up this domain a simple error was made in the DNS settings. We forgot the subdomain. testdomain.com http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30566908/change-default-gpo-namespace rather than site1.testdomain.com. We found a way to change a majority of the references, but Group Policy objects are not being applied correctly. How can we change this name space? or will we be forced to reset and re-run dcpromo.exe and ensure correct settings this time? active-directory group-policy share|improve this question asked Jun 1 '15 at 6:25 Jack 9529 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I have found my problem. We renamed our domain using rendom.exe, which changed settings in the forest. And then removed to testdomain.com zone in the DNS settings. However! We failed to change the domain on the domain controllers DNS suffix through the system properties (System Properties > Advanced System Settings > Computer Name > "To rename this c
Community! Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I have setup folder redirection in GP and applied the GPO to the test container. I have https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/441159-enabling-folder-redirection-through-group-policy applied the redirection settings for Windows Server 2000-2003, XP etc. For some reason when I login to the 2003 Server as a test user the profile redirection works perfectly. When I login as the test user on an XP workstation it does not work at all. How could this be? Thanks in advance! Is the user account in the OU that the policy is applied to? Redirection is pointed to the user object not the computer object. 0 Serrano OP Justin2100 group policy error Feb 5, 2014 at 1:12 UTC Well, I am actually redirecting folders using GPO to a NAS. The users I have tested have been a combination of Domain Users and Domain Admins. The Shared folder that the user's redirection folders are stored in is public at the moment. The reason I am confused is because the group policy object applies correctly when I log in to a 2003 Server (just as a test). But when I log in to a regular workstation that is XP, the group policy is not applying at all. I am in a testing phase at the moment, several of the users have Windows 7 so I am hoping that the issues die with XP. I am trying to figure out why the GP won't apply to this XP machine. 0 Mace OP Rockn Feb 5, 2014 at 1:24 UTC This GP is linked to the test OU correct? Is the user account also inside of this test OU? Are you editing an existing policy or have you created a new one? What are your settings for this redirection?I am not sure the redirection will work correctly if this
