I can't find any obvious issue on the domain controllers. I can ping the DCs and nltest /server:

just the local computer and "Entire Directory". Interestingly enough, if I select "Entire Directory" and enter a samid, it resolves it fine. Can someone point me in the right direction to resolve this issue? To troubleshoot this issue, please ensure the following items: 1. Ensure the server has network connectivity to your domain controller. 2. Verify the DNS name resolution via type the following command from the Run command line: C:\>nslookup domain.com The fully qualified domain name (FQDN) of a domain controller should be displayed. 3. Ensure whether the server is able to access domain's SYSVOL folder. \\FQDN_of_Domain\sysvol 4. Run "rsop.msc" to verify whether the GPO is applied in the result. Upon setting up this domain a simple error was made in the DNS settings. We forgot the subdomain. testdomain.com rather than site1.testdomain.com. We found a way to change a majority of the references, but Group Policy objects are not being applied correctly. When running RSOP.msc. we get an error: RSoP data is invalid Invalid namespace Did a http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30566908/change-default-gpo-namespace bit of digging and it seems when we create a group policy, and click edit, the name does not reflect the servers FQDN. dc01.testdomain.com rather than dc01.site1.testdomain.com. How can we change this name space? or will we be forced to reset and re-run dcpromo.exe and ensure correct settings this time? active-directory group-policy share|improve this question asked Jun 1 '15 at 6:25 Jack 9529 add a comment| 1 Answer 1 active oldest votes up vote 0 down vote I have found my problem. We renamed our domain using rendom.exe, which changed settings in the forest. And then removed to testdomain.com zone in the DNS settings. However! We failed to change the domain on the domain controllers DNS suffix through the system properties (System Properties > Advanced System Settings > Computer Name > "To rename this computer..." > "More..." > Change DNS there) It's funny, here, how you seem to find the answer to your question right after you ask it. share|improve this answer answered Jun 1 '15 at 6:47 Jack 9529 add a comment| Your Answer draft saved draft discarded Sign up or log in Sign up using Google Sign up using Facebook Sign up using Email and Password Post as a guest Name Email Post as a guest Nam

If that fails it could be due to a replication error. Did you recently try to restore data or recover from your DC crashing? This can also happen if you try to relocate your SYSVOL. Also make sure that the particular user that you're having trouble with is not a member of too many groups. that can cause problems because of Kerberos authentication. You will also need to make sure that none of the groups your users are assigned to are set to "deny group policy". You will also want to make sure your DNS is pointing to the correct DNS server for the domain. If RSOP.msc isn't working try running gpresult /v to see if the policy is indeed being applied. Are you trying to manipulate the default domain policy? If you are try creating a seperate policy not default domain and modifying that one. Just link it to the domain. You can get this error if a workstaion has Netlogon service not started or disabled. Other services to look at would be workstation and computer browser. If that doesn't work you could try to re-image the machine if it is just one that is being problematic. 0 Cayenne OP Jason5373 Dec 22, 2008 at 12:52 UTC Have you tried forcing the new policy onto the machine? gpupdate /force If you have corrupted anyt

Details: Invalid class I'm guessing that the class being referred to is a WMI class, but I haven't gotten much farther. I've run sfc /scannow on the machine with no luck. I've also followed all of the recommendations in this article: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/repairwmi.htm.
