Review the Policy Events tab in the console or the application event log for events between 21/08/2013 10:45:28 and 21/08/2013 10:45:29. I check the application log on the local Windows 7 PC and the domain controller and there aren't any events at that time. 1 Question by:antonioking Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Google LVL 24 Best Solution bySandeshdubey Troubleshooting RPC Errors http://technet.microsoft.com/en-in/magazine/2007.07.howitworks(en-us).aspx Tempararly disable antivirus and third party application too and windows firewall if enabled. If Go to Solution 17 Comments LVL 12 Overall: Level 12 Windows Server 2008 5 Active Directory 5 Message Active 6 days ago Expert Commen
machine while working with GPO to configure Audit Policy settings. I was in need of configure Audit logon eventspolicy as Success,Failure to audit logon, logoff and logon failure of every users with their workstation by the Event IDs 4624,4634. So that I have decided to applyAudit http://www.morgantechspace.com/2013/08/group-policy-infrastructure-failed.html logon events policy to workstations throughDefault Domain Policy. After edit theAudit logon events policy inDefault Domain Policy as Success,Failure, I run the command GPUpdate /force in domain controller. then I moved to one of the workstation Windows 7 http://www.mcmcse.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6054 computer which is in the Domain Network, to check whether theAudit logon events policy is applied or not through Default Domain Policy. To check final result I run the command rsop.mscto viewResultant Set of Policy. I see group policy the following output withGroup Policy Infrastructure failed error. The error detail is Group Policy Infrastructure failed due to the error listed below. The system cannot find the file specified. Note: Due to the GP Core failure, none of the other Group Policy components processed their policy. Consequently, status information for the other components is not available. Solution 1 : Group Policy Infrastructure failed error I got resolved this issues by removing my Windows-7 PC from group policy infrastructure Domain Group, and changed to Work Group. Then again added the machine to Domain Group. Steps to fix Group Policy Infrastructure failed error in Resultant Set of Policy: 1. Right-click the My Computer, click Change Settings, click the buttonChange, then now change the Member of from Domain to Work group. and click OK.. 2. Restart the Computer 3. Login into PC with Local computer account 4. Again right-click the My Computer, clickChange Settings, click the buttonChange, then now change the Member of from Work group toDomain . and click OK.. 5.Again Restart the Computer 6.Now login with Domain user account and check Resultant Set of Policy by running the command rsop.msc. now you will get resolved from issue. Solution 2 : Group Policy Infrastructure failed error After I haved researched through google, I got many suggestions to edit hosts file. The HOSTS file located in C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc contained entries for my domain controllers. I simply removed entries which relevant to domain controller from the HOSTS file and now my Windows 7 pc get rid offResultant Set of Policy issue. Hope this will help some of you. and also I simply request you to comment if you got any other solution as it will help others. Note: Please becautiouswhile you editHOSTSfile since it will make unwanted network issue if you edited with fault settings. Thanks, Morgan Software

The creation of the Domain Controller and Active Directory has gone swimmingly. That was the simple part of the equation. I have created a "Central" OU that stores users, and applied a folder redirection policy to My Documents, so that My Documents uses a folder on the server, rather than the local client. I have also created user "Test User" under the "Central" OU, and logged in as Test User on the Windows 2000 Server. The Folder Redirection works fine. The new user directory is created in the share location as expected. I now log on as "Test User" on a client machine with Windows XP. I make it to the desktop, but the folder redirection does not work (nor a couple of other settings I enabled in the GPO). I can browse the network to see the document folder that should be used, and I can create a text document in the directory, so I don't think it's a permissions problem on the server side (nor would that explain the problem with the other GPO settings). My estimation is that the GPO is not being applied to the client machine when the user logs in. Using gpupdate /force (on the XP client) does not cause the GPO to be propagated, and gpresult (on the XP client) says that "DOMAIN\TestUser" has no RSOP data. In order to troubleshoot the problem, I replicated the environment using a Windows Server 2003 test system and a Windows XP client. If I run the Group Policy Modeling Wizard for the target computer\user I can see that the settings I have enabled SHOULD take effect. However, when I run the Group Policy Results Wizard for the target computer, it does not complete, returning the following error message: "You do not have permission to perform this operation." "Access is denied." Does the Domain Controller need permission from the client computer to apply the GPO? If so, ho
