You should on a weekly basis, in the middle of the night, be doing the following: 1) Analyze/Fix the Structure with Index check and Fix problems...I suggest Wednesday for this 2) Analyze/Fix the Contents and Fix problems...I suggest Thursday for this 3) Reduce Databases (which will make the message store databases compact and contiguous)...I suggest Friday for this. 4) Monthly you should do a Mailbox statistics with a violator count set to 1 instead of the default 500 so that every user shows up on the list. Then you take the portion of the log file that lists this count, copy it to notepad, save it as a .txt and then bring it into a spreadsheet and parse it. Then sort it and go whine at the users who have too much mail. I've put together GroupWise systems that have run for years with no issues, following the above for regularly scheduled maintenance.
