Environment Novell Messenger Situation Novell Messenger agent is not configured for SSL.Unable to or can't connect to a non-SSL messenger system using the Mac or Linux client.Messenger Cross-Platform clients report the following error when attempting to connect:The client is unable to establish a secure connection with the specified server; a secure connection is required. Resolution The Messenger Cross-Platform client requires an SSL connection with the Messenger agents. If you are not already familiar with SSL, or if SSL is not already set up on your system, you can add SSL security to your Messenger system, as described in Establishing Messaging Security with SSL Encryption in Managing the Messaging Agent in the Novell Messenger 3.0 Administration Guide.For a Novell Messenger 2.x server, use ConsoleOne to configure the Messenger agents for SSL. Provide an SSL certificate, key file, and password on the Security page of the Messenger Server object. Please read the instructions on the download page carefully and follow the given steps for installation: "Novell Messenger 3.0 Support Pack 1 has been released.
