The install seemed to go wrong (error message at final install: System management is blocked by app. id.8780 (YAST2/bin/y2base (dutch: Systeembeheer is geblokkeerd door de applicatie met pid 8780 (/usr/lib/YaST2/bin/y2base) However, afterwards the QT UI seemed to be succesfully installed. Also, i have been running an external HardDisk with a RAID option/function, for some time prior to the appearance of Error 23. I tried running YAST-> System -> bootloader (with the Desktop mode set to default.) It seemed to (re)install the bootloader, but had no effect on the error last time i checked. I CAN access Ubuntu this error only happens when i try to boot Windows. I was wondering if i could setup GRUB to boot to Windows Boot manager so i could select which windows OS to boot from. Im still in the process of converting over but i still need my other partition. This is all being done from 3 different Hard drives so i know i didnt over right them (also i know by fdisk -l). I will post the Grub Boot here and the out put of fdisk -l so you can see if you know whats going on here. Ad

The RAID functioned correctly, then I did: raidhotremove /dev/md0 /dev/sda1 raidhotremove /dev/md1 /dev/sda2 raidhotremove /dev/md2 /dev/sda3 raidhotremove /dev/md3 /dev/sda5 Subsequently I resumed and I introduced the hard disk. Later I did the following thing: mdadm /dev/md0 -a /dev/sda1 mdadm /dev/md1 -a /dev/sda2 mdadm /dev/md2 -a /dev/sda3 mdadm /dev/md3 -a /dev/sda5 Once the hard disks were synchronized, I resumed and the following legend appears: GRUB Loader stage2 > But when predicament any key appears me a new one line: GRUB Loader stage2 > How can I correct this?, someone can help me? Re: BOOT PROBLEM: GRUB Loader stage2 230263 Oct 10, 2005 11:47 AM (in response to 423100) I don't believe Grub understands software raid devices. It can no longer find you kernel. You can manually tell grub were to boot from by telling it what you root(boot) device is root(sd1,1)then tell it what kernal and where your root filesystem is (your kernel might be different grub will to tab completion though so just type kernel/vmlin(tab key) kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.21-27.0.2.EL ro root=/dev/md1and then where your initial ram disk is initrd /initrd-2.4.21-27.0.2.EL.imgThen boot away bootAfter you boot you will need to up
General January February March April May June July August September October November December error 23 error while parsing number I spent many hours trying to figure out why the hell the latest Debian (Squeeze) broke my boot loader. After a reboot my server has been unavailable. I was getting the error:error 23 error while parsing number because my partitioning scheme was based on software RAID. In my setup /dev/md0 was the root filesystem. To solve the issue do the following. Click c on grub to move on to command line and type: grub> find /boot/grub/stage1 (hd0,0) (hd1,0) grub>root (hd0,0) grub>setup (hd0) grub>reboot and then edit the kernel boot parameter and change /dev/md0 to (hd0,0) Posted on: 05/05/2011 Back to Home page 0 Comments If you want to leave a comment please Login or Register Latest Category Articles How to run Virtualbox 5 on 4.4.1 kernel......
