But somewhere during the installation I made a mistake. And on the startup in grub menu there was not option to choose Windows. I suppose that this happened because when installing I selected for Fedora to boot from the first hard disk. Yesterday I have physically removed Fedora's partitions using Partition Magic. But still can't boot Windows. Now I only get error message: "Grub hard disk error". I checked and all Windows data and installed programs are there but I don't know how to fix this problem with booting. Any advice, please? __________________ Motherboard: Asus A7V8X-X CPU: AMD Athlon XP 2200+ RAM: 1.7 GB DDR GraphCard: Asus Ati Radoen 9200 OS: WindowsXP migrating to Linux (at the moment F8) djole_nisam_ja View Public Profile Find all posts by djole_nisam_ja #2 25th January 2008, 07:34 PM stoat Offline Registered User Join Date: Jun 2006 Posts: 7,549 Quote: Originally Posted by djole_nisam_ja Yesterday I have physically removed Fedora's partitions u

After this I could again load my xp https://www.redhat.com/archives/rhl-list/2004-December/msg07109.html so what could have gone wrong with installing fedora? I used automatic install for partitioning anyone got any ideas? xp is C: drive and fedora will be the D: drive hdb... afair: grub harddisk error = wrong disk geometry please check your bios-settings i had a similiar problem (no_dualboot, no_raid) with a promise-tx2000 raid-controller (pci). "hde" (boot-device) + "hdg" was unfortunately configured as raid1-array in the controller-bios and grub could not boot after the installation = "grub harddisk error" with both disks as 2 seperate arrays (controller bios) all was ok an i could boot fedora. -- shrek-m References: grub hard disk error From: zomorf [Date Prev][Date Next] [Thread Prev][Thread Next] [Thread Index] [Date Index] [Author Index]
