AM Howdy,We experienced a lengthy power outage during off-hours. When the UPS drained completely our ESXi 5.5 server grub loading error 5 shut down ungracefully. Upon trying to start the server again I'm greeted with the following screen...GRUB Loading stage1.5.GRUB loading, please wait...Error 17I was able to get the server running again https://datarecovery.wondershare.com/fix-computer/grub-loading-error.html by installing VMware ESXi 5.5 onto a USB flash drive, booting from that drive, finding the virtual machine's VMX file in the server's datastore and adding it to the temporary installation's list of virtual machines.I'd like to resolve this GRUB issue but I have no (zero, nadda, zilch) idea how to fix this problem. Can anyone provide guidance? 1730Views Tags: none (add) https://communities.vmware.com/thread/485116?start=0&tstart=0 grubContent tagged with grub, usbContent tagged with usb, crashContent tagged with crash, errorContent tagged with error, esxiContent tagged with esxi, 5.5Content tagged with 5.5, 17Content tagged with 17 This content has been marked as final. Error 2 Have tried installing Hardy, it kept giving me "Grub Loading... Error 2". Googled it and found this: "The Way To Solve This Grub Error I Found Was To Set My Bios To Auto I Cant Remember Much Of What I Did Because Im Now Back On Windows Xp But This Problem Is Nothing To Do With Going Through Grub And Ruining Ur Loader It Is Simply Ooo I Remember Go To Standard Cmos Settings In Bios Set Your Hard Drive To Auto (thats If It Has An Auto Feature) And Go To Master Which Would Be Ur Hard Drive And Instead Of Having Some Numbers There Try And Set It To Auto Using +/- Keys Save And Reset And It Should Load Right Up!" The thing is when I press F2, I can't find those setting anywhere. Is there a different F(..) button I need to press to access those settings? Or am I doing something wrong? BTW, I'm trying to install it on Sony VGC RC210G desktop. (http://www.iq.sony.com/srvs/DocsConn...DL=',600,5) I've reinstalled Windows back on my PC. The first installation of Ubuntu was on Raid0.
