Tried everything. Anyone else still having this problem and/or have a possible fix short of taking the thing back or using the CD's as clay ducks? It starts installing then i get "Error 1305. Error reading the file "C:\.........\counter-strike source shared content.pcf. Please make sure that the files exists and that you can access it." within about 15 mins on CD1. I have tried to install CSS only from the install menu first, but that doesnt work either. I have shut down all my system tray apps, i even tried shutting down all the services as well... no go.... Any advice? #3 capttrob, Feb 26, 2006 Beerdude26 Party Escort Bot Joined: Oct 20, 2004 Messages: 10,392 Likes Received: 0 Have you tried installing everything that is available? Sometimes you encounter this problem when you don't instal CS:S. #4 Beerdude26, Feb 28, 200

I'm getting the following error when I try to install Half Life 2. 'Error 1305. Error reading from file: C:\Program Files\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\base source shared sounds.gcf. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.' It happens on disk 3. Anybody else getting this error? I'm doing a full install, so this is not the CS Source error. Needless to say, http://www.valvetime.net/threads/error-1305-installing-cd1.101641/ its very frustrating when you pay $55 for a game and it won't install. Anyway during CoD WaW installation it gets to this certain part and I get this: I went and 'Explore'd the drive and when I open the video folder there's nothing there. I searched up this online and people said that the disk is probably is "broken" or corrupt or something, but before I go and exchange for a new copy I would like to make sure it's that and not something else. Please help. Thanks. EDIT: Okay, well the file's in the video folder now, b
