Tried everything. Anyone else still having this problem and/or have a possible fix short of taking the thing back or using the CD's as clay ducks? TIA #1 capttrob, Feb 25, 2006 Beerdude26 Party Escort Bot Joined: Oct 20, 2004 Messages: 10,392 Likes Received: 0 What problem are you experiencing? #2 Beerdude26, Feb 26, 2006 capttrob Guest When i try to intall HL2, im able to install Steam, then i am prompted to install HL2, CS-S, HL1... etc etc ( i have The Game of the Year Edition). It starts installing then i get "Error 1305. Error reading the file "C:\.........\counter-strike source shared content.pcf. Please make sure that the files exists and that you can access it." within about 15 mins on CD1. I have tried to install CSS only from the install menu first, but that doesnt work either. I have shut down all my system tray apps, i even tried shutting down all the services as well... no go.... Any advice? #3 capttrob, Feb 26, 2006 Beerdude26 Party Escort Bot Joined: Oct 20, 2004 Messages: 10,392 Likes Received: 0 Have you tried installing everything that is available? Sometimes you encounter this problem when you don't instal CS:S. #4 Beerdude26, Feb 28, 2006 capttrob Guest I have tried installing one by one, installing all together, and tried to just install CSS by itself. No go on all.

Discussion in 'Software for Windows' started by Hankerton, Jan 3, 2005. Problem is I run a wireless connection and this could take forever. Is there any other way around http://www.valvetime.net/threads/error-1305-installing-cd1.101641/ this? I assure you the disks do not need to be replaced. They look clean as a whistle. #1 Hankerton, Jan 3, 2005 Cable God Diamond Member Joined: Jun 25, 2000 Messages: 3,251 Likes Received: 0 I'd try copying the disks to a temp folder and then run the install from there. That might work. #2 Cable God, Jan 3, 2005 KB Diamond Member Joined: Nov 8, 1999 Messages: 4,552 Likes Received: 2 Is https://forums.anandtech.com/threads/is-there-another-way-around-error-1305-half-life-2-install.1489676/ this the "can't find file hl2.ico1 file in hl24.cab" install error? I got that particular error and to get around I just clicked, next, next next ..... instead of customizing the install to remove Counter-Strike Source. At first I thought it was my bad CD-ROM drive but after testing it again I realized it was valve/viviendas poor QA that let the bug through. #3 KB, Jan 3, 2005 (You must log in or sign up to post here.)
