This was yesterday. After a break of about couple replace hard disk hours, I checked my laptop and it said that the hard disk boot failed.After Restarting I was able to Login through the "continue with system resume" option.I was not sure as to what the problem was and restarted again. This time, I ran a hard disk self test and at 79% It gave me an error code 10008 and asked me to replace the hard disk. I decided trying out XP and was able to install it overwriting Windows 7. But I was unable to boot afterwards through my local drive, but was able to view all my drives when I boot the system using the XP installation USB.So I did a data backup,just in case, and wanted to identify as to what the problem might be.While trying to install Windows 7 over the XP installed drive, the setup said "The drive might fail soon and asked me to choose another drive for installation"I googled the error code, and most results suggest a Hard disk failure and replacement as the most common solutionCan someone help me out here? Am not sure if this has anything to do with the disk cleanup, if some system files were accidentally deleted (twas 4 am was hal
