I am currently having a problem with my PC. As far as I gather it's a custom build I got from one of the "rent to own" style places. It worked great for the two years I had it. But much like vehicles, as soon as it's paid off, things went wrong. I ended up somehow frying the motherboard and got it replaced for free due to still being under warranty. Since then I put in a new graphics card and a higher wattage power supply to

BySybren Apr 18, 2012 Post New Reply Hi! First of all, I don't know for sure if this is the right topic. If not, I'm sorry! Since a few hours ago my pc won't completely boot. I'm getting a 3rd slave hard disk error. And in the bios it states this: Primary IDE Master: Not Detected Primary IDE http://www.techspot.com/community/topics/pc-wont-boot-3rd-slave-hard-disk-error.180052/ Slave: Not Detected SATA 1: Optiarc DVD RW AD- SATA 2: WDC ROM MODEL-BUCC I have a Asus P5KPL-AM IN/ROEM motherboard and I've got 0 knowledge about pc's Apr 18, 2012 #1 ComputerGuy55 TS Maniac Posts: 380 +8 If it is saying Disk 3 is having an error then I would either disconnect, or disable the 3rd drive. A bad drive could stall windows and prevent it from fully loading. Hopefully the 3rd drive is not the one with your OS on it. Apr 18, 2012 #2 Sybren TS Rookie Topic Starter Well I thinks it's the only disk I have, I've disconnected it reconnected it and my OS is on it. Should i reinstall windows? Apr 18, 2012 #3 Tmagic650 TS Ambassador Posts: 17,230 +232 The 3rd disc is the CD/DVD drive, not the hard drive. Disconnect it and see if the computer boots normally. If it does, replace the CD drive Apr 19, 2012 #4 (You must log in or sign up to reply here.) Show Ignored Content Similar Topics PC

First Drive- WD74GB Raptor> Quick test-passed, Extended test-passed. Second Drive-WD500GB Blue Caviar Sata II . On this test for Drive #2 test, I ran the WDQuick test then a window popped up right away and stated, ERRORS, STOPPED, after about a minute. How do I re-start this Quick text for this particular drive? It always tells me it has stopped. After finding bad sectors in drive#2, I ran the repair utility, and it still seemed sluggish, so I reformatted the 74GB which I use for the First Boot where all the applications are...re-installed windows ,apps, hardware and software,it seemed to be ok for a few days, then once I turned it on today, I get this "MASTER HARD DISK ERROR..PRESS F1 TO RESUME"" what???? is this the hard drive #2, since Drive number #1 passed both tests? If the first drive passed, and is the first boot drive to windows, could the second drive be a problem too, even though it's not the boot to windows drive and only used for storage? I tried for about forty minutes to boot to the windows screen, but each time I'd get this "MASTER HARD DISK ERROR..PRESS F1 TO RESUME"" error message. Does this error message that includes the "F-1" still mean that I could have a problem with the hard drive, (it showed bad sectors before I reformatted it) or is it a windows or bios problem? Thanks! #1 rivbyte, Jan 16, 2010 mpilchfamily Diamond Member Joined: Jun 11, 2007 Messages: 3,559 Likes Received: 0 The first drive checks out so i dou
