Hard Drive Dst Short Test Failed Hp
First off I have a HP 2000 Notebook PC with Windows 8 and I used Internet Explorer 10. Processor Name : AMD E-300APU with Radeon HD Graphics. A few days ago, my computer started getting slower & slower, not responding, freezing up and even going to a blue screen before coming back to the page I was at. So I put it in Safe Mode with Networking and ran Malwarebytes full scan - nothing. Then I hit F2 at reboot and ran some of the tests on there - Battery was Okay, memory was okay, but this one failed : Hard Drive Short DST Check - Software Error Failure ID : RSG080-6P579C-MFGJXG-60VS03 Product ID : D1E80UA#ABA Does this mean I need to update with windows update, that there isn't enough memory or does it mean my Hard Drive needs to be replaced? This laptop is only 1-1 1/2 years old.... I would get your important data off it as soon as possible. After your important data is off download Seatools for Windows and do a diagnostic to confirm the hard drive failure. Safe mode etc results in the same, not installed any software for about 6 months.Recovery disk has not worked either...Ran the F12 Diagonistics at start-up, it fails the DST short test. Looking at the web this seems to indicate HDD failure (with "60-70% likelihood").Removed the HDD, put it in external box and connected to desktop. Can access some information in My Documents (eg the My Pictures folder, phew), but other folders eg My Music result in an "I/O Failure" warning when clicked and are not accessible - as do a number of other folders - seem only about 1/3 folders can be accessed. If HDD fails, can you access some and not all files, or generally you cant access any?Aside from formatting and starting again, any other solutions be
