Hello everyone, It's P&T IT BROTHER. We wrote this to help people with bad hard drives. Generally, the above message appears when there is a problem with your hard drive. The hard drive could have bad sectors or it could malfunctioning. Today, we will share things that you can try to fix your hard drive problems. It is not guaranteed, but we hope this will be helpful for some people. 🙂 How to check your hard drive condition - Hard drive utilities Before we go ahead, we would like to share a different tip here. Let's learn how to find out if your hard drive is good or bad. 1. CrystalDiskInfo Download this software here: http://crystalmark.info/software/CrystalDiskInfo/index-e.html and check your hard drive condition. If you see Good in health Status, it's good. If you see Warning or Caution, you should be careful. If you see Bad, your hard drive has problems and it's bad. 2. HD Tune Download HD Tune here: http://www.hdtune.com/download.html and try "Error Scan" to see if your hard drive has any bad sectors. If it does, your hard drive may cause problems due to bad sectors. Try CHKDSK /F /R Turn on Command Prompt(make sure you run it as administrator), and type chkdsk /f /r e: where e: is the drive letter that has problem. This will start scanning, and it will also try to correct hard drive errors. If your hard drive has physical damages inside, the chance of recovering will be less, but let's try this anyway. It will take a long time so grab a coffee while the scanning. 🙂 For Windows 7, and Vista: Click "Start" -> In Windows Search, type "cmd" -> Right click on "cmd" -> Click "Run as administrator" -> Windows Command Prompt will open.
