Garage is empty, add now Join Date: Oct 2007 Posts: 1 Rep Power: 0 P1361 Code, Engine Runs with half the power I have a 2001 Honda Civic and about a week ago the car shut off and the engine light came on. I turned on the car and it performed at half the power as before. I waited for about 20 minutes and drove the car again and the car worked fine then the problem occurred again. I took it to the dealership and diagnosed it and the code that came up was P1361. The dealer told me i had to replace the cylinder heads but i am not sure if that is the problem. Should i replace the TDC Sensor first? 11-03-2007 #2 Black7Ice Registered!! Wires all seem tight Share this conversation Expert: Ron Z. replied5 years ago. Welcome to JustAnswer.com! My name is DriveFast71(Ron) and I will do my best to answer all of your questions completely and accurately. The P1361 is fairly common on these vehicles, and points to a fault in the TDC (aka Camshaft Position) Sensor. When faulty, the sensor will cause a "no spark' or "erratic spark" situation, and cause the symptoms you describe. Inspect the wire harness and electrical connector for any loose, broken or rubbed through wires. If the visual inspection checks ok, suspect a faulty sensor, and replacement should sovle the problem.
