ClearCase Control Panel. Cause The ClearCase administrators group may not have been set in the Windows registry. Diagnosing the problem Issue the command NET START ALBD from a command prompt. The error returned states "the albd could not be started. Service did not report an error". Try starting the albd in albd cruise debugging mode "albd_server.exe -d -nosvc >albd_debug.txt". The error should say "No mapping between account names and security IDs was done.". Resolving the problem The ClearCase administrators group name has to be set in the Windows registry. Note: This solution contains information about modifying the system registry. Before making any modifications to the Microsoft Registry Editor, it is strongly recommended that you make a backup of the existing registry. For more information describing how to back up the registry, refer to the Microsoft Knowledge Base article 256986.
