You copy corrupted files from hard drive paid for that product already. Isn’t there a way to make a backup copy? Unfortunately not by means of standard disc burning software. In this tutorial, I will cover what I https://www.macxdvd.com/mac-dvd-video-converter-how-to/rip-copy-protected-dvd-without-read-error.htm think it is the best alternative for making a backup copy. Trying to make a copy with the usual disc burning applications doesn’t work I have a DVD with one my all-time favorite movies: The Shawshank Redemption. The disc is quite old - I must have had it for 6 years or more, and well... I would like to make a backup http://www.digitalcitizen.life/how-make-backup-copy-protected-disc-dvd-or-blu-ray of it, in case the disc becomes way too old and unusable. I started Nero StartSmart Essentials and tried to copy the disc and it said “Copy error!”. Then, I fired up ImgBurn and tried to create an image file from the disc so that, later on, I can burn it to another DVD for safekeeping. Immediately, ImgBurn returned an error saying that the disc is copy protected and said that CSS/CPPM protection is being used by this disc. How do I get around it? How to use use and configure AnyDVD HD to remove the copy protection I chose to download and install the 21 days trial version of AnyDVD HD, to see how it would work. During the trial, you receive a prompt each time the application starts up. A small annoyance, nothing else. Once you click on Continue, you can start using the application. AnyDVD HD automatically scans the media that you place into your DVD or Blu-Ray drive, so that it detects its properties and the type of copy protection it uses. Once I opened AnyDVD HD, I noticed in the Status section

This is because the disc has bad dye most probably, the disc isn't commercially available so I can't just get another copy. Anyway the read errors come in at about 92%, I tried 'ignore read errors' on dvd decrypter, but after about 2 hours it was still getting them. Is there a way to copy this dvd as it is? with the read errors? I know some of the dvd may not be copy error dvd viewable, which is fine..but it all plays fine on my dvd player, so if i copy it, theoretically it should all play ok. But I can't find a way of doing it. Any suggestions? Thanks Quote 4th Mar 200700:42 #2 NiteLite View Profile View Forum Posts Private Message Member Join Date : Jul 2004 Location : NoAm I would try other software programs such as DVDFabDecrypter (free). Windows Explorer Copy (default) TeraCopy Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier Unstoppable Copier stops copying as a whole, it keeps continuing the same file after 20 minutes, despite any settings. I have spent much time Googling, but the one program ("Unstoppable Copier") that people recommended, did not to the trick as it keeps choking on the same file despite a setting of "Fasteset Data Recovery", "Maximum Retries 0" and "Undamaged Files First". The back side of the DVD has some scratches. What options do I have? They work by removing a thin layer of the plastic on the side that contains the data. It probably won't make much difference for very heavy scratches though. –James P Nov 21 '12 at 15:32 Is this a manufactured DVD or a burned disc? –Keltari Feb 15 '13 at 2:13 @Keltari: What would you do differently with those? Till now I've always treated them almost the same when it comes to polishing/resurfacing (just took a little more care with the latter). Was that wrong? –Karan Feb 15 '13 at 2:22 The difference is where the scratches are. Burned disks can be ground down more than manufactured disks if necessary (see me answer below), because the pits are burned into the underside of the surface layer. If the scratches are on the surface layer of the burned disc, then you are out of luck. –Keltari Feb 15 '13 at 2:47 add a comment| 5 Answers 5 active oldest votes up vote 9 down vote I've had good results with IsoBuster when nothing else worked on an important disc (Roadkil worked with an HDD but not for this disc unfortunately): The Pro version's not free but you can click the "Free F
