That's the little 2" formatter board fan on top not spinning at the proper 52 scanner error hp laserjet speed. Bad news is the fan costs over $50. Just doesn't seem like a fan that small should cost that much. Usually when they start going bad they make a really loud noise. by moe on Oct 3, 2004 at 5:08pm Add comment Please sign in to comment I have received the same error (58.3) on my printer as well. And it did make some loud whining/grinding noises up until the error. Any suggestions on where to buy this fan? - curly 0 You can email [emailprotected] to see if

Posted on Monday, April 16, 2001 - 11:27 am: Does anyone know what error code 58.3 means? I can not find any information on this error code on this printer. Mike Posted on Monday, April 16, 2001 - 12:33 pm: 58.3 means you have a fan motor failure in the printer the 3 tells you it's the fan motor number 3. Fan 3 is located under the top cover, once top cover is removed you will see a small fan pointing up. First check the cable, then try replacing the fan, last possiblilty is a bad DC Controller.
