am still getting the error. What else could be wrong?Looking at the motor I replaced, it looked fine, as well as the hp laser printer error codes drive gears.Any ideas? Respond to this 0 MARV: A "57 Service Error" on 50.0 fuser error a HP 4 does indicates that there was a general motor failure, or a RELATED PROBLEM...The FORMATTER detects a main 52 scanner error hp laserjet motor failure when: #1: The main motor does not come up to speed within one second of receiving drive voltages. #2: The main motor deviates from the correct speed for one second after

reaching the correct speed...COULD BE SEVERAL POSSIBLE PROBLEMS. AS YOU REPLACED THE "MAIN MOTOR" ALREADY AND IT DID NOT CORRECT YOUR PROBLEM, WE WILL ASSUME THE NEW MOTOR WAS "GOOD" AND "CORRECTLY INSTALLED"...Its also possible that the GEAR TRAIN ASSEMBLY has seized, become blocked by FOREIGN MATTER/DEBRIS, or a gear has FAILED/BROKEN... Its also possible that you may have a DEFECTIVE TONER CARTRIDGE with worn, or 50.0 fuser error hp laserjet p1108 binding gears...Its possible there is a LOOSE CONNECTOR [usually #J211] on the "DC Controller PCA Assembly", or even the main connector for the "Main Motor Assembly"...AS IT SEEMS YOUR PROBLEM WAS NOT CORRECTED WHEN YOU REPLACED THE "MAIN MOTOR", YOU MIGHT WANT TO RECHECK THE CONNECTORS, JUST TO BE SURE...THEN PULL THE "TONER ASSEMBLY" OUT AND TURN THE GEARS BY HAND, TO MAKE SURE IT TURNS FREELY. YOU CAN EVEN SWAP IT OUT FOR ANOTHER "TONER ASSY" [FOR TESTING PURPOSES], IF YOU ALREADY HAVE AN EXTRA REPLACEMENT ON HAND. DON'T BUY ANOTHER "TONER ASSY" UNTIL YOU KNOW FOR SURE THAT THE ONE ALREADY IN THE PRINTER IS BAD...VISUALLY INSPECT ALL THE DRIVE GEAR ASSEMBLIES...Good Luck! When you remove the formatter cage to access the motor, you can get to the motor flywheel and turn it without removing the motor. Because of the gear ratios in the drive train, it should turn easily. If you can turn the motor 15-20 times without encountering much re

Then, do the gears turn freely when you manually turn the motor? If not, replace the gear drive assembly. If they do check fuser gears, make sure they are not seized up and that they turn. If that checks out good, then its probably a bad DC Controller. This printer is a boat anchor, though. Unless customer wants to keep it, suggest upgrading to something else. Binding gears will cause the problem. You've already replaced the Main Motor, could be missing +24V on the DC Controller. Replace the DC Controller if the toner cartridge doesn't do it. Boat Anchor? Also, if you've had the Paper Input Unit out of the machine (for service) it could be causing the error if improperly installed.
