references, see the LaserJet 4Si Printer User's Reference Manual. One of our technicians recalls upgrading/changing the memory chip in this printer 52 scanner error m521dn years ago. Accorinding to documentation, it might be a 4MB SIMM module, but I am unable to figure out how to access inside the printer, and thus cannot verify that.I guess my question is three-fold. http://www.printertechs.com/printer-troubleshooting/hp-error-codes/195-numeric-error-codes-50-59-hp-laserjet [1] I'd like more information on this error. [2] How do I access this memory module? [3] What do I need to replace it with to try and clear the continuing error? Thanks.Sean McMahonGateway School District, PA Respond to this 0 You can remove the SIMM. If you don't do memory intensive jobs, you don't need it. To access the chip, you have to remove the right plastic side panel http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/50504 (looking from the front of the printer). There are 2 screws at the bottom of the panel. Once that's off, you'll see an oval metal plate with about 8 screws holding it in place. The memory is under the plate. by moe on Sep 10, 2007 at 12:49pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 This forum is awesome and FAST. I'll go ahead and give that a shot. I was promptly faced with a 79 (0807) error.I rebooted the printer twice more, and then I was able to print a normal, black & white document.Would anyone think this printer is soon going to be more trouble than it's worth? by unknown on Sep 10, 2007 at 1:42pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 79 errors usually involve nothing more than rebooting the printer. Nothing to worry about unless they don't go away. I've seen millions of copies on that model. It's all in how you maintain it. by moe on Sep 10, 2007 at 1:50pm Add commen
