about an inch apart with grey in between them, about 1/3 from top of page. Since we stole this fair and square, and since we have a number of good (but _not_ laser printer) techs around, I'm wondering where we might dig. The book simply says error 51 means we should call HP service." (Note: In the discussion below, the specific cable 52 scanner error m521dn and parts IDs may not match your model.) (From: Tony Duell (ard@p850ug1.demon.co.uk).) It's called a 'beam detect error'. Let me explain what that means: The laser beam is reflected off a spinning hexagonal (I think) mirror, and scanned across the drum. At one end of the scan the laser is turned on, and the reflected beam hits a fixed mirror (not the drum) and is reflected down an optical fiber to a photodiode on the DC controller board. The electronics on that board detects the pulse from that photodiode and provides a sync signal for the data sent to the laser So the fault can be the laser, the scanner motor, assorted optical bits, the photodiode, or bits on the DC controller board. I think we can eliminate the motor for the moment, as that tends to give Error 52s. Look at the PrinterWorks Web site (http://www.printerworks.com/) for exploded diagrams. Also read the section: SAFETY since you will be inside the printer near high voltage and possible exposure to laser light. The official fix is to replace the scanner, the cables (electrical and fiber optic) between
and a paper with three black banners comes out. This happens when the printer is On for about 50.0 fuser error hp laserjet p1007 one hour, before this the printer works fine.I have tried the following:- 59.f0 error hp printer changed the fuser with one from another printer- changed the power-cable- changed the printer-cableI hope someone knows what could 50 fuser error hp laserjet 3050 be the problem with my printer. Thanks Respond to this 0 Most likley it is the laser/scanner assembly. The motor is probably not spinning at the right speed. You would need to http://www.repairfaq.org/samnew/printfaq/pcfljec51.htm find an old hp 4 no longer working and switch the laser/scanner. It is the "black box" located under the top cover. You would need to remove the right side cover, the top cover, the left side cover and the output assembly. Remove all the cables from the scanner retaining clips. Remove the three cables plugged into the scanner and remove the http://fixyourownprinter.com/posts/13257 four screws attaching the scanner to the frame. When replacing the scanner make sure the shutter control arm on the left front side of the scanner is sttached correctly so that the shutter closes when the toner cartiridge is removed. You could first try to remove the 3 connnectors and reseat them. On a very rare occasion this will correct the problem. 99\% of the time this error is the scanner assembly itself. by dmzcompute on Oct 11, 2003 at 7:41am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Thanks for your reply David, i will try to find another laser, i will let you know if it works !! by unknown on Oct 11, 2003 at 7:57am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 The HP4 and 4+ use different scanner assemblies. You would have to find another 4+ scanner assy. by dmzcompute on Oct 11, 2003 at 9:34am Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP DeskJet Plus Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc. horizontal lines about 1/2 apart to once when I pulled ou the fuser assembly (I hp laser believe) I got about 1/3 page of the windows test page, and the rest lines. Any ideas?? Thanks Respond to this 0 An error 51 is a beam detect error related to error hp laserjet the laser/scanner assembly. You could check all connections to the laser/scanner and other side to the dc controller. I usually remove them and reseat. To be honest 95\% of the time it is the laser/scanner motor wich is defective and the other times it is the dc controller. Good luck. by dmzcompute on Jan 18, 2004 at 4:40pm Add comment Please sign in to comment Please sign in to comment HP LaserJet 4 Buy discount ink Buy this printer More HP questions © Copyright 2011-2016, FixYourOwnPrinter.com, Inc.
