The 50 error code means fuser temp problem, low temp, high temp, bad thermistor, or switch. There are 2 things you can do. 1. replace fuser 2. 50 reset procedure, turn

The snag is, is it the fuser that's faulty? or is it the power supply to the fuser? If you have a pal with a LJ 4, see if you can borrow the fuser to try it out.
