need to replace the light cyan Vivera ink cartridge. When I do so with a brand-new cartridge, the message keeps coming back. I tried doing what was suggested in the manual, which was to wipe off the copper contacts in the machine with a soft cloth and distilled water. This made no difference. What should I do next? Thanks! Respond to this 1 I have an HP 3310 Photosmart printer that someone turned it off by useing the surge protector switch instead of the on/off button. Now it has the constant error message to turn printer off useing the power button not unplugging it or useing any other way to turn it off. Does anyone know if there is a quick fix to get rid off this error message? Thanks JJHudson by unknown on Apr 17, 2008 at 10:54am Add comment Please sign in to comment I've had this recently and If you just press OK when the message is on the screen it clears. My problem is that my printer freezes when you turn it off so it never actually shuts down - the only way is by pulling the plug... any Ideas? - unknown 1 Has anyone removed the button battery on the HP Photosmart 3310 in order to go around the ink cartridge expiration date problem? If so, could you please let me know where the button battery is? Thanks. by unknown on Jun 19, 2008 at 7:02am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Clean the electrical contacts on the cartridge and mating contacts if you haven't already. Consider the possibility of a defective cartridge. Most sellers will take them back if you are not satisfied. by Bert on Dec 2, 2007 at 8:09pm Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 Make sure the printer is asking you to replace the light cyan and not the dark one. The message on the screen will also have a shape in it corresponding to the cartridge. Check the message and check the shapes on the cartridge to verify by anon88 on Dec 5, 2007 at 4:28am Add comment Please sign in to comment 0 I am unable to use the printer for anything since an ink system failure error appeared. I went to the HP site and went through the steps and it did not work. I called tech support and the operator indicated it maybe a software problem. Ofcourse I am out of warranty even though this is a replacement 7 months ago for the first 3310 I purchased when it went bad. Any ideas? by unknown on May 2, 2008 at
