full thrust on the fans. It's connected to a P800 controller in a HP DL385 G2 server. I had to hard shut down the Server and unplugged it and the MSA60. The 2nd try at powering the MSA60 up returned the fans to the normal operating tone. The SCSI channel selector showed only lines and as the P800 went to initialise the unit the error LED's came hp msa60 on. The P800 could not find the MSA RAID arrays. The front light is solid and the rear error light is blinking. If you lost all six disks on one side at the same time I would suspect the relevant backplane, but if not then I'd go for the midplane still. I would start by going into Smart Array Utility and HP Log Viewer as well as Event Viewer to see what type of errors were logged. Simply blow air from you're mouth into the left side where the fan exhaust is. Could hear the fan moving and dust came out of laptop. Just blow very hard into it, worked for me.
