ยป HTTP Status and Error Codes HTTP Status and Error Codes 3 Years Ago GlobalSCAPE 5 CuteFTP for Windows THE INFORMATION IN THIS ARTICLE APPLIES TO: All GlobalSCAPE products, all versions Refer to https://kb.globalscape.com/KnowledgebaseArticle11144.aspx for EFT-specific HTTP error codes DISCUSSION During your HTTP sessions, you'll receive various numbered codes from Web servers. When connected via HTTP, CuteFTP and HTTP servers to which you connect can display these codes in the log window. Some codes represent errors. Most others simply communicate the status of the connection. Here are brief explanations for the most common https://scn.sap.com/thread/740356 status and error codes. The list below are standard HTTP codes. Numbers outside this list are proprietary to the Server or Client that you are using. Error or Status Code Description 100 Series Informational - These status codes indicate a provisional response. The client should be prepared to receive one or more 1xx responses before receiving a regular response. 100 https://kb.globalscape.com/KnowledgebaseArticle10141.aspx Continue. 101 Switching protocols. 200 Series Success - This class of status codes indicates that the server successfully accepted the client request. 200 The client request has succeeded. This status code indicates that the Web server has successfully processed the request. 201 Created. 202 Accepted. 203 Non-authoritative information. 204 No content. 205 Reset content. 206 Partial content. 300 Series Redirection - The client browser must take more action to fulfill the request. For example, the browser may have to request a different page on the server or repeat the request by using a proxy server. 302 Object moved. 304 Not modified. The client requests a document that is already in its cache and the document has not been modified since it was cached. The client uses the cached copy of the document, instead of downloading it from the server 307 Temporary redirect. 400 Series Client Error - An error occurs, and the client appears to be at fault. For example, the client may request a page that does not exist, or the client may not provid
by the server due to malformed syntax. The client SHOULD NOT repeat the request without modifications. https://easyloadrunner.blogspot.com/2013/06/http-response-messageshttp-codes.html When / Why: The request in the script may be badly formatted. The best thing to do is check if the request has any parameters that you http://www.csgnetwork.com/servererrors.html have edited, of so check them by debugging. HTTP 401 Unauthorised Officially: The request requires user authentication. The response MUST include a WWW-Authenticate header field (section 14.47) http status containing a challenge applicable to the requested resource. The client MAY repeat the request with a suitable Authorization header field (section 14.8). If the request already included Authorization credentials, then the 401 response indicates that authorization has been refused for those credentials. If the 401 response contains the same challenge as the prior response, error http status and the user agent has already attempted authentication at least once, then the user SHOULD be presented the entity that was given in the response, since that entity might include relevant diagnostic information. HTTP access authentication is explained in "HTTP Authentication: Basic and Digest Access Authentication" When / Why: Typically when load testing many users are generated from the same machine. In a Microsoft example the browser can use the current Windows logon credentials as credentials for the web site using NTLM. Therefore if the login is different as does not have the same authorisation as the original login (from the recording phase) during the execution the server may deny access with 401. In the script you should use: SetAuthentication(UserNameVariable,PasswordVariable,DomainVariable); HTTP 403 Forbidden Officially: The server understood the request, but is refusing to fulfill it. Authorization will not help and the request SHOULD NOT be repeated. If the request method was not HEAD and the server wishes to make pub

Connection Errors & Web Server Response Codes And Messages Server Error Information There are two classifications of server errors, they are: Connection Errors - These errors are created as a result of a connection failing to be established to a Web server. They do not have a response code but will contain a brief description of why a connection could not be established. The reason that they do no have a response code is that Web servers can only return a response code after a connection is established, and since a connection could not be established to the Web server, a response code could not be obtained. Web Server Response Codes And Messages - If a connection was established to a Web server, the Web server usually sends a response code and message. If the response code is less than 400, the Web page is considered not on error. If the response code is equal to or greater than 400, the Web page is considered on error. The following listing includes a detailed definitions of all the errors that a web or intranet server generally returns and an explanation of each. Connection Errors Invalid URL Invalid URL simply means that the format of the URL was invalid. The format should be in one of the following forms: http://www.anyurl.com http://www.anyurl.com/ http://www.anyurl.com/page.jsp http://www.anyurl.com/page.asp http://www.anyurl.com/page.html http://www.anyurl.com/page.shtml http://www.anyurl.com/page.jsp?QueryString Host Not Found Host Not Found occurs when the web server's host computer could not be found using it's host/domain name (the Fully Qualified Domain Name). This usually indicates a problem with your DNS system or connectivity to your DNS system or general Internet connectivity problems.
