If the SC is broken you'll get replication errors and access denied in ie. dcdiag logs. If replication is good, then t

I deployed a new 2008 R2 DC yesterday for testing and things work when pointing to the 2008 DC. Here is the same command from the 2008 DC: nltest /SC_QUERY:domain.com Flags: 30 HAS_IP HAS_TIMESERV Trusted DC Name \\NAC-ATC-AD01 Trusted DC Connection Status Status = 0 0x0 NERR_Success The command completed successfully The trusted DC Name is the Windows 2012 DC which also holds FSMO roles. DCDIAG and Replmon come back clean with no errors. Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now Hello! I have a Hyper-V VM guest running 2012 R2 server, DC1, that had been added to an SBS 2003 domain MANY months ago. I decommissioned the SBS 2003 server today after removing Exchange several days ago. We had been waiting for their accounting package to be upgraded before we could drop the SBS, and they were moved to Office 365 many months ago, too. I used the GUI to transfer the roles to the 2012 R2 server, and all roles showed properly on the 2012 R2 server. The 2012 R2 has been up for months and AD replicated. It's a GC, too, of course. The SBS was then demoted using dcpromo, and then removed from the domain. When I test AD on my DC1 2012 R2 server using the "dcdiag /test:dns" command, I get the following error. Missing SRV record at DNS server 192.168.1.31: _ldap._tcp.7f0eef47-5246-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx130f5995.domains._msdcs.domain.internal When I look at DNS on DC1, there is an _ldap entry, but the SID is different than in the error message. Looking at Forward Lookup Zones > _msdcs.domain.internal > Domains > there is a big GUID starting with 4702b1c2-0b49, vs. the 7f0eef47-5246 in the dcdiag dns test error. The _tcp sub of that GUID has an _ldap starting with 4702b1c2-0b49. Running "Nltest /sc_query:domain.internal" shows: I_NetLogonControl failed: Status = 1355 0x54b ERROR_NO_SUCH_DOMAIN I have gone through every DNS subfolder and removed all the references to the old SBS server. Many articles suggested "nltest /dsregdns" and that made no difference. C:\Windows\system32>nltest /dsregdns Flags: 0 Connection Status = 0 0x0 NERR_Success The command completed successfully I have Googled until my brain is bleeding and cannot figure out how to fix it, or if I even need to do so. I'm not even sure it's a valid error, as the domain seems fine as far as workstations and other servers logging into the domain and accessing any server. HELP, PLEASE!!!
