Disk I/O error when I try to sign in to Skype for Mac OS X? This article is also available for: Windows disc i/o desktop Sometimes, you may see a “Disc I/O error” when attempting to sign in to Skype: “Disk I/O error. Quit and restart Skype. If the problem persists, we suggest uninstalling and reinstalling Skype: Quit Skype by ctrl-clicking the Skype icon and selecting Quit. If the Skype icon still appears in the Dock, ctrl-click the icon again, select Options, then click Remove from Dock. Move Skype from the Applications folder to the Trash folder. Open Finder from the Dock, and press Command+Shift+G.
