Unable To Sign In Due To A Disk I/o Error Skype Linux
Sometimes, you may see a “Disc I/O error” when attempting to sign in to Skype: “Disk I/O error. Quit and restart Skype. If you keep seeing this error, please contact Skype customer support.” To resolve this issue, first make sure that you are using the latest version of Skype. If the problem persists, we suggest uninstalling mac disk1 i/o error and reinstalling Skype: Quit Skype by ctrl-clicking the Skype icon and selecting Quit. If the Skype icon still appears in the Dock, ctrl-click the icon again, select Options, then click Remove from Dock. Move Skype from the Applications folder to the Trash folder. Open Finder from the Dock, and press Command+Shift+G. In the pop-up window that appears, type ~/Library/Application Support/, then click Go. Then, to reinstall Skype and keep your chat history: Rename the Skype folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ to “Skype.old”. Download and install the latest version of Skype. After the installation is complete, start Skype, then quit. In the Skype.old folder, find the folder with your Skype Name and copy it to the new Skype folder in ~/Library/Application Support/. Your chat history will be restored. To reinstall Skype without keeping your chat history: Drag the Skype folder in ~/Library/Application Support/ to the trash. I had an older version of Skype at the time (not sure which version) and it remained after installing Yosemite. After the update to Yosemite, my version of Skype was just fine and ran normally for a few days. Yesterday, however, when I tried to log-in it said "Unable to Sign in due to disk I/O error." I thought maybe it was my computer, so I cold-booted it and restarted. That didn't seem to work, so I reset my skype password, that didn't work. So I figured maybe it was my old version of Skype, so I updated to the new 7.1 version.I still recieved this error message after updating. So I googled the issue and wound up on Skype Support. I followed the instructions on a previous support post about this issue and deleted Skype and re-Installed it. It still didn't work, so I restarted my computer and tried to open it again. Still the problem was not solved. I've deleted

Guess what? The only solutions provided by Skype is for different disk i/o error versions of Windows. I been skimming through this forum now and i cant seem to find a solution to this issue anywhere else. So, short recap: Uninstalled Skype and cleared up 60gbs(not skype related files) of my sadly far too small HDD who had been screaming about full hdd some days before a first ,now irrelavant,issue showed up. The proceeded to download new installation of Skype, installed it and then this issue showed up when i try to login. Anyone wanna take a guess how to resolve?
