not writeable. Ensure that /tmp (and/or /var/tmp) has the correct permissions (777) Check the my.cnf file and search for a tmpdir =/tmp flag. Ensure the value is pointing to the correct temp directory. Ensure your /tmp directory is not full Check your my.cnf If you made changes recently, revert them and restart MySQL (especially InnoDB error 1033 hy000 incorrect information in file mysql tables_priv frm Buffer Pool settings) Restore my.cnf.back is there is one If you are using InnoDB tables , ensure the skip-innodb line in my.cnf is commented out or removed. Clear InnoDB Log Files This step ONLY APPLIES IF THE ABOVE STEPS DID NOT WORK. Read the MySQL Manual page on removing InnoDB log files for a safer backup and restoration procedures. Basically, the steps are: Shut down MySQL Remove ib_logfile* files from the MySQL data directory (move them or rename them if you want to be safe) Re-start MySQL My specific problem was that somehow the "skip-innodb" line got added back into my "my.cnf" file, so MySQL was expecting a different table format when loading data. I suspect this had something to do with my cPanel/WHM setup overwriting the file, but I'll never know for sure. Good Luck! Incorrect information in file: 'filename' Posted by: infinitevs () Date: July 31, mysql repair table 2006 11:06PM Hi Everyone, I spoke to my web hosting company and they said that the INNODB database corrupted somehow.. I have no backups as they were supposed to daily and weekly backups, it took them a week to realise what happened so the backups got overwritten, and http://vancelucas.com/blog/mysql-error-1033-incorrect-information-in-file/ the corrupted tables did not backup as they were corrupted. When I click on the database tables in question they come up with: "Error No. 1033 Incorrect information in file: 'filename'" Is there anyway to recover this data or is it lost forever? kind regards, Sean. The table contains a large list of very important email addresses. I can get a table listing, but incorrect information in if I open any of the tables with Navicat or phpMyAdmin, I get the following error: Incorrect information in file: './the-table-name.frm' I was able to get a hold of the .frm files associated with the database from the web host. There is other data in there, but if I could at least get the email addresses, I would be alright. How do I recover this database? I would be willing to pay somebody to fix this. mysql disaster-recovery share|improve this question edited Feb 22 '10 at 21:31 hobodave 19.3k25666 asked Feb 22 '10 at 21:14 Wolverine 1,01131318 closed as off topic by Justin, JB King, bmargulies, svick, Justin Ethier Sep 8 '11 at 0:10 Questions on Stack Overflow are expected to relate to programming within the scope defined by the community.
