For some odd reason, my database is in a dismounted state, and my public database is unable to initialize the information store because the clocks in an "unknown" state. Trying to mount it gives me an error. I did some research, and see that my Microsoft Exchange Information Store wasn't started, and as you know, you need this up for the databases to be mountable (is that a word?). MS exchange store, i get this error: "Windows could not start the Microsoft Exchange Information Store service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The dependency service or group failed to start". After checking its dependencies, I am completely confused as they are all up and running. Any ideas? Suggestions? I'm able to connect with my DCs on different servers, and DNS is working. I am guessing this has something to do with permissions but am not really sure where to start looking. I have perused various articles on the internet but am not sure the best place to start. This is the error in the event log: Process INETINFO.EXE (PID=1636). Topology Discovery failed, error 0x80040931. I have looked up the ID but I don't really understand what the problem is. EDIT: When trying to start the windows service attendant service this error is in the event viewer: Unexpected error Logon failure: unknown user name or bad password.
