c-isam; c program; error -23101; - 23101 Technote (troubleshooting) Problem(Abstract) When a C program using an Informix C-ISAM library is compiled with "gcc" or "cc" and then executed, it returns the error message -23101. Symptom -23101 Unable to load locale categories. An invalid locale name was supplied for the locale initialization. The environment variable specifying the locale category has a wrong value. Resolving the problem This error message is usually resolved by confirming that both the PATH and INFORMIXDIR environment variables are correctly set. It also appears the error when a user tries to execute an isql or 4gl. We have already checked the environment variables, $INFORMIXDIR AND $INFORMIXSERVER, they are set correctly. We have found a temporary solution to almost all the client, associating the Informix group to every client, but this provoques a not convenient gap of security. It was recommended, to reinstall the product, but it was not assured that that the problem was going to be solutioned. problem. But when using the libix*.so libaries I get error -23101 unable to load locale categories. Online documentation : DB_LOCALE and CLIENT_LOCALE have to be set. I have entered : DB_LOCALE=en_us.8859-1 CLIENT_LOCALE=en_us.8859-1 on the client. Looks like there isn't a connect at all. What do I have to do ?
