THE SAN DRIVE TO ADD MORE DISK SPACE ★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★ Parikshit SavjaniJanuary 13, 200910 Share 0 0 We have observed a number of issue now where in clustered instance of sql server 2005 fails to come online after performing changing on shared disk on a cluster. As mentioned in my previous posts if the sql server fails to come online we need to start troubleshooting by looking at the sql server error log. So we checked the sql server error log and observed the following error 2009-01-11 21:10:06.96 Server Error: 26054, Severity: 16, State: 1. 2009-01-11 21:10:06.96 Server Could not find any IP address that this SQL Server instance depends upon. Has https://blogs.msdn.microsoft.com/sqlserverfaq/2009/01/13/sql-server-2005-resource-fails-to-come-online-on-cluster-after-changing-the-san-drive-to-add-more-disk-space/ anybody else run into anything like that? Any ideas? I've checked to make sure that VIA is off and TCP/IP is on, lol. I can ping the Virtual Server, and if I disable TCP/IP, the system comes right up, but I can't log into it or anything. I see lots of people have this problem online, but I haven't seen any clear answer for https://community.spiceworks.com/topic/267025-sql-server-2008-r2-not-working-via-tcp-ip it. I have uninstalled & reintalled, rebuilt both nodes in the cluster, and still get this message. Before getting too much into the error details, I started to analyse what had changed since the last service/server restart. Here is what I had done the day before, to troubleshoot some other issue. Removed the Server from the domain and made it part of a workgroup After completing the desired tasks, I had made the server part of the domain again. That's all. The SQL Server service was c

Solved How do I change a SQL cluster instance name Posted on 2009-10-28 Windows Server 2003 1 Verified Solution 1 Comment 1,158 Views Last Modified: 2012-06-21 Earlier today somebody went into cluster administrator and changed the SQL cluster instance name from server1 to server10. After that the SQL service on the cluster stopped and failed to start back up. Shortly after that they realized that the cluster administrator opened by default to a different cluster and changed the SQL cluster instance name back to server1. However the damage was already done. My question is how can you successfully go into cluster administrator and change the name of a SQL cluster instance? When we try to start the SQL service manually we get a series of errors in the event log. This is the first error. Could not find any IP address that this SQL Server instance depends upon. Make sure that the cluster service is running, that the dependency relationship between SQL Server and Network Name resources is correct, and that the IP addresses on which this SQL Server instance depends are available. Error code: 0x103. Followed by TDSSNIClient initialization failed with error 0x103, status code 0x1. Then Could not start the network library because of an internal error in the network library.
