After doing some research I found that I should disable the ACPI functionality in my bios. I did that however I still get the error message only now it jumps down one line and hangs after ACPI: setting ELCR to 0200 (from 0c20) any help would be greatly appreciated as I currently can not do anything. One more thing I recently put an ASUS board in my computer however it had been running fine for several days without any problems before this happened. While your system seems to haveplenty of other problems, ACPI did find the DSDT and it is runningnormally."I expect this message comes initramfs error from the "initrd DSDT override patch"that some distributions, such as SuSE and Ubuntu tend to add tothe kernel."Since this is apparently not a real kernel bug, but something to do withubuntu's initrd, I am posting the bug here** Affects: linux (upstream)Importance: UnknownStatus: Unknown** Affects: linux-source-2.6.15 (Ubuntu)Importance: UndecidedAssignee: initramfs error file J?r?mie CorbierStatus: Rejected--ACPI: Looking for DSDT ... not found! Even if this is not a real "error" (ie, if nothaving a DSDT is a normal situation), this is still a user-interfacebug: it should not be reported as a boot-time error. The message shouldbe changed to something more descriptive, like "file /DSDT.aml notfound, using defaults" or whatever is appropriate.I couldn't find
