In addition to that, the compatible cartridges that are available today won't work for a rececnt printer even if the cartridges have the same part number. This is because Epson changes the information in the chips on the purpose to sell more cartridges.I hve heard that through internet, your printer may receive a firmware up date and consequently the non original cartridges installed will stop working!!!I am currently looking for

Ink cartridges cannot be recognised - how to fix Epson cartridge recognition errors Ink cartridge cannot be recognised is a fairly common error experienced by many Epson printer users. And receiving one of these messages can be most frustrating, because 'cartridge(s) not http://www.inkbank.com.au/webcontent31.htm recognised' error usually translates into 'printer not working'. In other words...you're not printing anything http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/65281-3-epson-artisan-this-genuine-cartridge-error until the error is cleared. If your printer is currently non operational - with 'Ink cartridges cannot be recognised' error (similar to above), don't panic. The solution can often be as simple as switching the printer off and on again. If that doesn't work and the problem persists...read on. What causes 'Ink cartridge cannot be ink cartridge recognised' errors? There is no simple answer to this...there can be many causes. It can mean just about anything from cartridge declared empty by the printer to outdated or faulty chip, missing or incorrectly installed (not clicked in properly) cartridge, ink on the chip or printer contacts. It can also indicate some hardware fault with the printer itself. Note: It's perfectly normal to see 'Ink cartridges not recognised' error with almost epson printer won't empty/empty Epson ink cartridges. What does 'Ink cartridges cannot be recognised' mean? 9/10 times, the 'Ink cartridges cannot be recognised' or similar message, doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the actual ink cartridges or printer. So what does 'Ink cartridges cannot be recognised' error really mean? It's your printer telling you: 'stop being difficult...get with the system...go and buy some genuine ink cartridges...and I might print again'. Can 'Ink cartridges cannot be recognised' error be fixed? Generally yes, unless you have received Epson driver/firmware update. If for example the printer fails to recognise one or more ink cartridges after you enabled an update, there may not be great deal can do about it, other than buy new Epson cartridge(s). Once an update is in your system, there's no getting rid of it. Printer driver update can not be removed by deleting files, programs etc. Even formatting your hard drive and re-installing the original printer driver (from disk) will not achieve anything. Why? Driver update can permanently change the printer firmware (in the printer itself) - an

No. m 0 l strangeproblem 29 October 2012 21:20:59 I dont have that type of pinter but my HP sounds to be the same issue. I discovered if I replaced the wrong color in the empty ink slot, I would get the error message. Then I discovered on the empty color ink cartride there is a tiny computer chip in the "face plate" of the cartridge. The chip is needed for the printer to think it has the correct color. I simply switched the face plates on the empty color cover and put that face plate with the corret chip on a black ink cartridge. SO I didn't have to buy color I don't need. SO far it has worked. m 0 l Can't find your answer ? Ask ! Get the answer inkspots 8 February 2013 21:01:37 PhilFrisbie said:No. YES I found a way to use cheap cartridges in the Artisan 50... Then a screen pops up saying "replace cartridges", click "already purchased" button. Screen goes off, and printer starts preparing cartr
