Pro > Windows 7 Application Compatibility Question 1 Sign in to vote I intellipoint windows 10 have tried everything I can find.Clear temp, uninstall of preious versions (they never actually installed). Installed   .net framework beta2 microsoft mouse and keyboard center t, tried installing different keyboard choice during install of my product ALL fail with error code 1603 incompatible application(intellitype software that is not something else) it hints that my hardware may be ncomaptible.

I have just built it. I7 proc. w7 x64bit, asus vid card eah4890+ just hdd and dvd writer+ reader. no other cards. AVG antivirus v9. Most of the keyboard works except 7my favourites, my docs, my pictures,my music, and messenger buttons and onboard wheel(mouse scroll) current installed driver is 7.0.280.0 . as this is an MS keyboard and a clean install this is a bit annoying-- any help greatly appreciated. Thanks for the reply daniel. Had already tried this. This software when run is what generates the error code 16003 incompatible app. had also tried the original ver of Intellitype prov5 and tried choosing different keyboards during the install process and  get exactly the same fault. I searched the Internet for 3 days now, and tried every solution suggested in Microsoft forums including doing a clean boot, and all in this list except uninstalling Windows Installer and re-installing it. Please help. I got a hardware compatibility warning before the install stating that a known issue with the MS Intellipoint software was detected. This is the software that makes my (then) MS IntelliMouse Explorer intellitype pro error fully functional with all the bells and whistles. The mouse works, but with basic functionality. I researched the error code (1603) and determined that this was an "installation error"....duh. Researching this, I found several similar instances regarding this error, but none had any real resolution. I have since downloaded the Win 7 Intellipoint software from the MS site and get the same error code...and the installation is aborted. I found several things to try in order to get the software to install. 1. Delete all temp files (%temp%). 2. Reinstall the latest MS .NET Framework 3. Install and run Windows Installer Cleanup to remove any old Intellipoint files. (None were found) 4. Checked to make sure Windows Installer Service was set to Auto and started....it was. 5. Tried the install using a "clean startup". The only thing that was suggested that I didn't try was to uninstall Windows Installer and reinstall the latest version. I couldn't find it anywhere on my system. This in and of itself may be part of the problem? None of the above ideas worked. I always got the "Incompatibility Notice" and error code 1603. I have since purchased a new mouse, thinking if it said it was Windows 7 Certified, all would be
