Creating your account only takes a few minutes. Join Now I got an alert this morning from our monitoring service that both of our Hyper-V host servers encountered an unexpected termination of the Interactive Services Detection service. WINDOWS EVENT-----------------------------------TIME OF EVENT: 5/20/2014 8:14:18 AMEVENT LOG: SystemEVENT SOURCE: Service Control ManagerEVENT ID: 7023SEVERITY: ErrorDESCRIPTION: The Interactive Services Detection service terminated with the following error:Incorrect function. Thing is, according to this document: http://blogs.technet.com/b/tip_of_the_day/archive/2013/09/16/9-19-tip-of-the-day-interactive-service... ...we shouldn't even have it running. I checked services.msc and sure enough, it's set to "Automatic (delayed start)" but is not running. I tried manually starting it to see if it would start and remain stable but it ended immediately (and I got another alert a few minutes later). What's the best way to filter Event Viewer logs to find out what was responsible for this trying to start in the first place? I had the same error for about 20 hyper-v servers all around the same time this morning 0 Tabasco OP Shnladd Mar 31, 2015 at 9:33 UTC Never did. Not with that company/environment anymore either - now living the sweet life with VMware and much happier. I do still wonder though... 0 Jalapeno OP michaelkerr2 Jun 23, 2015 at 7:16 UTC Oh sure...leave it for me to fix, lol! :-) From what I'm seeing, A group policy with WMI filter that queries Win32_Product Class or an application on a machi
