Interbase Error 1224
IB server recently. Below is an extract from the InterBase.Log file. It took several attempts to get IB to start without the Win32 error appearing in the log. The server seems to be OK now. Does anyone know what this means ? - should I be concerned about it ? What about the strange 10093 entries ? C:\>net helpmsg 10093 Either the application has not called WSAStartup, or WSAStartup failed. C:\>net helpmsg 1224 The requested operation cannot be performed on a file with a user-mapped section open. Looks like IB was trying to access a file which was open. On startup, IB would need interbase.log and maybe a few others. You can use the file monitor from Sysinternals if you need a full list. If it goes away after a reboot and doesn't reappear I wouldn't worry about it much. -- Craig Stuntz [TeamB] ?Vertex Systems Corp. ?Columbus, OH Delphi/InterBase Weblog : blogs.teamb.com/craigstuntz Please read and follow Borland's rules for the user of their server: support.borland.com/entry.jspa 1. update would fix this problem, we updated it.Result: Interbase does not crash anymore, but is very slow. At 8 'oclock in the http://borland.public.interbase.general.narkive.com/m8FKlevX/interbase-7-5-1-slow-after-update morning, noproblem, but fast getting slower towards 9 'o clock. Server is a dualXeon with HTT and Win2003.CPU is 50% all over the time (single cpu license). The admin has tried lots of things (htt on/off etc) but could not fixit.I tried the tripple ANY_LOCK_MEM_SIZE (to 768kb) andV4_LOCK_MEM_SIZE,and after that, the problem is interbase error gone!So why is the default value 256kb and not 768kb? (I read some moreposts about defaulttripling these values)By the way, I could not use iblockpr.exe:-----------------------C:\Program Files\Borland\InterBase\bin>iblockpr.exeUnable to access lock table.C:\Program Files\Borland\InterBase/SERVER6.lckoperating system directive CreateFile failed-unknown Win32 error 1224----------------------Also when I tried to shutdown the database and Interbase! Query TMP$Statements (you can do this with Performance Monitor) andget a list of all active statements when the CPU is pegged.2. Kick all users out, make 2 copies (not BACKUPS!) of the database.3. Allow users back in, do the following repeatedly:a. execute a statement from TMP$Statements against copy1, leave theconnection connected, look at CPU Utilization. OK?b. If not OK, disconnect, copy copy2 to copy 1. Repeat. We are hoping for ONE statement that causes the high CPU Utilization. Ifyou find this, post your results here and we can proceed.Post by AndreBefore the update, Interbase was crashing once every day. 100+ usersand lots of connections.Because 7.5.1 update would fix this problem, we updated it.Result: Interbase does not crash anymore, but is very slow.
