Interface Error: -16434 The Connection Is Not Stable Started by finkcreative , Apr 03 2011 04:44 AM Please log in to reply 1 reply to this topic #1 finkcreative finkcreative Newbie Members 1 posts Posted 03 April 2011 - 04:44 AM This is incredibly frustrating but I've got this "interface erro: -16434 the connection is not stable" which has come after "the drive reported an error sense key medium error". I thought by changing the write speed I might be able to solve the "sense key error" but all that's happened is it's created a "connection' error. Unless I can find out what on earth "interface error: -16434 the connection is not stable" actually means, my purchase of Popcorn 4 has become a rather expensive white elephant. unthreaded | newestfirst tribes » Computers & Internet » Mac OS X » topics » "Interface Error -50: The connection is not stable," error when burning DVD topic posted Mon, May 1, 2006 - 6:59 AM by Unsubscribed I am using Toast (latest version) on a G4 with an external burner. I burned a CD, then a DVD with video content. I then attempted to burn another DVD with different video content and got the message: "Interface Error -50: The connection is not stable," Rebooting didn't solve the problem, nor did putting in a new DVD disk. http://forums.support.roxio.com/topic/73287-interface-error-16434-the-connection-is-not-stable/ Has anyone encountered the problem and found a solution? Thanks! posted by: Unsubscribed join to post Advertisement Jory 75 Re: "Interface Error -50: The connection is not stable," error when burning DVD Mon, May 1, 2006 - 8:27 AM I've not seen this error before, but here's something to try: you can make a disc image in Toast prior to burning and sometimes the same issues show up http://osx.tribe.net/thread/a3e08e9d-28ac-45b2-9e2d-40ac7e33e0f2 without making a coaster. To do this, do everything as you normally would, but instead of hitting the "Record" button, hit Cmd-D to save as a disc image. Once the disc image is done, Get Info on the image file that you saved, lock it, and then double-click it to open up in Toast. Now click the "Record" button and see what happens. Another thing to try is burn the disc (or disc image) from a different hard drive and see what happens. join to post Vicious 268 Re: "Interface Error -50: The connection is not stable," error when burning DVD Mon, May 1, 2006 - 11:28 AM Maybe the hard drive is fragmented or has too little free space? join to post Unsu... Re: "Interface Error -50: The connection is not stable," error when burning DVD Mon, May 1, 2006 - 1:45 PM I tried with iDVD, and it said I was trying to burn to PAL format. I don't know why. It's just a bunch of FujiFilm DVDs from Frys. At any rate, I went to BestBuy and got a stack of Memorex DVDs, and it's working now. Thanks to you all for your help. join to post the r
now. I've been using Toast 5 Titanium for a while now with absolutely no problems whatsoever. However, today when I tried to burn an audio CD, it paused for a bit during the lead-in writing, then I got an error message (I forgot to write down the http://www.verycomputer.com/26_3f1c371de2e30f10_1.htm number...) that said the connection to the CD writer was unstable. Then after clicking OK, the system froze. I tried it again--same exact result. Coaster #2. Tried it again after rebuilding the desktop, but using Simulation Mode--same thing again (but no coaster this time ;) I haven't installed much software lately, just an FTP client is all I can remember right now. I'm running OS9 right now--haven't tried to run Toast under X yet, although it is the updated version for X. This problem interface error started well after I had installed that update, so the update is not responsible for the problem. Could my CD-ROM be *? It's a Lite-On LTR-12102C drive in a G4/733 machine. It's worked beautifully until today (I've only burned maybe a dozen CDs, though, so I haven't exactly worn it out). Any suggestions welcomed, as Roxio's email support is down, and this didn't show up in their known issues. thanks! _dennis Top Toast Titanium error: Connection unstable? by Adrion Majett » interface error 4 Tue, 26 Mar 2002 05:50:10 > Gang, > I've created a couple coasters and have given up on burning a CD right > now.
